"A trip to Chongqing is incomplete without a stay at Gongtan Ancient Town's Bashi Inn which is located at the bank of the calm Wujiang River facing the forested mountain. The Inn is conveniently situated opposite the Wujiang Cruise Centre. We had 2 blissful nights and adore the scenic view from our balcony. The room is clean and very comfortable. Our host, Ms Ran Ran, is a very warm and helpful person who had gone the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. She helped arrange all our transportation needs: arriving from Pengshui and departure from Gongtan."

"First, I arrived at Gongtan at 8 PM. On the way, the landlady called to say that neither she nor her husband were at the guesthouse that day, only her mother was. I told her we had a driver and guide, so it wouldn't be a problem to find it. Later, I learned that cars couldn't drive in, and it was very difficult to find. We carried heavy suitcases down from the top, which was exhausting, as it was all high steps. The GPS wasn't accurate here either. Anyway, we searched for a long time, and it was hot and tiring.
Second, when we arrived at the guesthouse, the environment was quite nice at first glance—bright and clean, with a nice view from the balcony. However, I thought the two rooms would be two separate rooms, but it turned out to be one large room separated by a glass partition with a bathroom. The soundproofing was terrible; the sound of people using the toilet was very clear, which was embarrassing. When I went to sleep, I found many small black bugs on the bed, the headboard felt quite dirty, and the blanket on the bed felt dirty and fuzzy. The faucet on the sink was loose, and the basin was too small, so water splashed everywhere when I washed my face.
Third, I arrived very late at night and hadn't had dinner. I asked the auntie if there were any places to eat nearby, but she said she didn't know. I wandered around aimlessly for a while, and finally saw a bunch of tables next door by the river that looked like a restaurant. I climbed up to check, and sure enough, the place next to my room was a restaurant. I was a bit speechless. I left at eight in the morning, and there was nothing there—no breakfast or anything like that I'd seen in the comments.
In short, the only advantage was the environment outside the balcony."

"I made a special trip back to my hometown, Youyang, to experience the Peach Blossom Spring Forest Hotel. Even though I'm a local and own a place there, I was still willing to spend the money to experience it. The tree-hole room I booked was a fantastic experience; it even had a mahjong machine. It was incredibly photogenic, and the surrounding area was beautiful for taking pictures. The only thing I found a little uncomfortable was the infinity pool, which wasn't as impressive as I'd imagined. Before arriving, I thought it would be a private hotel pool, but when I got there, I found many people who weren't even staying at the hotel using swimming tickets to swim in it. This made me a little uncomfortable. Overall, though, it was great, and the service was excellent; they could easily call a car to pick you up whenever you wanted."

"I came to Xiangyang to choose the Luxi Hotel and I was very satisfied overall. Good location, not far from the ancient city of Zhangzhou, you can walk. "The hotel facilities, cleanliness, and service were all excellent, and there's an elevator. The owner and staff provided great service too! The breakfast offered was delicious. Most importantly, the scenery was absolutely stunning! The only downside is that the location is a bit far from the old town, and it's not easy to find a taxi there. Luckily, the owner offers a pick-up/drop-off service, which is paid but reasonably priced. If you stay in the old town, you'd have to walk quite a distance with your luggage and climb stairs. Overall, I recommend this for travelers who want to see the old town's night view but don't want to forgo modern amenities."

The environment is a full surprise. The hand-built bucket-style structure Tujia hanging foot building is a live display of non-legacy culture. The room is large and warm (forgot to take pictures) what makes my eyes shine most is that the room is equipped with drying equipment. This intimate design is undoubtedly the most touching humanized details.
Food is the soul color here. Fresh ingredients do not need to be over-recorded, abandon the complicated seasoning, but the most authentic taste to the extreme, each mouth is solid and unforgettable, the aftertaste is long.
The service is warm to the heart. The boss and the staff are very enthusiastic. The boss personally drove us to pick us up and drop us off, and introduced the historical origin of the cottage and the museum in detail. The employees not only patiently answer questions, but also take the initiative to talk to us. There is no deliberate guest manner in the words, all natural enthusiasm; In the evening, we were invited to dance the Tujia waving, and when we stepped with the rhythm, even the evening breeze was wrapped in intimacy.

The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the whole town in the mountain area is estimated to be almost the same as the old buildings. You need to climb the stairs, about 50 levels. The cruise ship from Yutan to Pengshui usually runs twice a day. It should be 14 o'clock in the morning and afternoon. It takes about 2 hours. The ticket is booked in advance but there is no direct link. Trip.com Pengshui goes to Yutan. Pengshui Wanzu Wharf network car-hailing is very difficult to hit, you can ask the dock staff to help call the car to Pengshui.

However, when we checked out, we took their car to the parking lot to drop off our luggage. The female attendant driving their sightseeing bus took our room key and then told us to take a 2-yuan scenic area sightseeing bus to the South Gate to enter Peach Blossom Spring (even though they could have taken us there). The crucial point is that there are only three sightseeing buses in Youzhou Ancient City, and we waited for a long time (it was very crowded).
My wife, child, and I waited for the sightseeing bus at the North Gate of Youzhou Ancient City for at least half an hour. Our plan was to visit Gongtan after exploring Dayou Cave (later we finally got on the sightseeing bus and saw that their hotel's own sightseeing bus was also going to the South Gate). I must give that female attendant driving the sightseeing bus a bad review. Remember, everyone, never hand over your room key in advance! Once you do, their service is over!!!

However, I wouldn't recommend bringing a suitcase, as you'll have to climb stairs after parking.
Because it's newly renovated, there's still a slight smell at night, but sleeping with the windows open was fine.
Around 8 or 9 in the morning, the cruise ships' horns sound, and the noise from tourists can be quite loud, so sleeping in at this ancient town inn is not recommended.

In the Xuefengyuan in the ancient town of Yantan, I really experienced the charm of ”slow life”. The homestay is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and outside the house is the sparkling light of the Wujiang River and the stacked hanging tower, as if living in an ink painting.
**Environment: elegant and chic, see the ingenuity everywhere**
The old house was transformed into a courtyard that retains the wooden structure and blue tile moths of the traditional Tujia architecture, and integrates the simplicity and comfort of modern design. The green plants in the courtyard are scattered, and a pot of meat is in line with the simple stone road. The log furniture, hand-woven fabrics and warm yellow lights in the room reveal the owner's intentions in the details. I love the top two rooms with their respective terraces. In the morning, I watch the mist, and at night, I listen to the river and the quietness of isolation.
**Master: Protector of the local culture with feelings**
Tian Boss is a gentle middle-aged man, formerly an art teacher, tired of the world and hidden in his old house to live a comfortable life. Talking can feel his deep feelings for the ancient town of Yantan, and his own life. Of course, there are also future plans for your own preface. You can't help but admire it, so you want to participate here. The boss's wife is also a teacher and has never left here. She made a pot of local eagle tea for us, talked to you about the history and humanities of the ancient town, and there will be neighbors to chat at night, all of which reveal the simplicity and beauty of the place. The location is excellent, you can travel to the entrance of the ticket inspection of Taohuayuan. Finally came back and took a 2 yuan battery car. The ancient city of Zhangzhou is an antique building. Because I wanted to rush to the next stop, I didn't stay overnight, so I checked out and left.
