"The now-Emperor of Japan stayed here when he was still the Prince. Not the most new and fancy hotel in the area, but still has its unique charm. Our room was by the lake which the sunset can be viewed from the balcony (but unfortunately we missed it due to arriving too late). Service was great, staff have good English. The breakfast was definitely the highlight, the food was nice and the view from the venue was very pleasant. Our plan didn’t have dinner but I am sure it would be just as good."

The main appeal of the hotel for us is that they have a private onsen in your room. Breakfast was also fantastic. You can go to enjoy free foot bath opposite the hotel after check out, and there are some souvenir shops and supermarket/ Lawson a few mins walk from the hotel. However, I thought the public onsen facilities were a bit dated and not so well maintained (the tubs have stains/wear and tear), even though it served the main purpose.
