During the exhibition, house prices rose sharply. I found this hotel with a good price-performance ratio. The service of the German brother at the front desk was great. When I checked out, I found that the hotel seemed to be operated by a Chinese. The room is quite large, can accommodate two people, the decoration is simple, the toilet is a bit small, the sound insulation is not very good, it has no effect on people like me who are easy to fall asleep, the rest is not lost, the hotel also sent a bottle of sparkling water Not bad! The transportation is fairly convenient. You can walk to the subway and train station in ten minutes, and you can also walk to the cathedral in a straight road, which can be reached in more than twenty minutes.

Ich war in Zimmer 56 untergebracht und habe mich rundum wohlgefühlt. Die gemütliche Atmosphäre, die durch das Zimmer durch die Dachgeschoss entstand, war einfach toll. Das Zimmer war sauber, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und perfekt für einen entspannten Aufenthalt.
Das Hotel überzeugt zudem durch seine zentrale, aber ruhige Lage und den freundlichen Service. Ich würde das Midtown Hotel jederzeit weiterempfehlen und komme gerne wieder!

The location is good, it's only a ten-minute walk to Cologne Cathedral, and it's also very close to the main train station. The hotel is not big, the decoration is OK, it feels like the money has been spent on the whole house smart system, there is no small refrigerator but there is a coffee machine. The toiletries are L'Occitane and they are pretty good, overall it's OK. Because there is a premium during the exhibition, everything else is OK.

I attended a concert at Die Kantine and that’s the reason why I stayed here. It’s pretty close to the concert area. There’s a wedding venue near by, but the sound isolation of the hotel is perfect that it doesn’t disturb at all. The room was so silent and clean, the bed was comfortable. I had a really good sleep! The reception stuff was so helpful and friendly. Next train station in 10 min by foot. I can recommend it!

The location is good, there is a balcony, blowing the wind in the European streets is quite beautiful. It was hard to stay in the machine at the door. Our family didn't know German. Even the guessing was finally in. Said that there will be breakfast, only 4 euros, excited to live in and began to find, and confirmed with Ctrip's customer service, but found it downstairs for a long time did not find. The owner of the restaurant on the side is very impatient to say that it has nothing to do with the hotel, and it is not convenient to ask. The bed is not big, the bathroom is quite simple, there is no slippers, there is a hot water bottle, but the price is also grabbed, the location is still so good, walk 5 minutes to the cathedral, walk 3 minutes from the central railway station, walk 15 minutes to a commercial District, there are several tramps downstairs, it seems that it is a gathering point, but also a big dog, a little scary, but did not hurt anyone. Overall, the price/performance ratio is still ok.

One thing that wasn't so good for us is that the pillows are very soft.

CCMJGS5 minutes away from the airport, I believe the hotel provides a shuttle service to / from the airport if requested. They can also book a taxi if you’re in a rush. The room was very nice and comfortable, although the coffee machine in my room wasn’t working. The hotel lobby and bar look really good although I didn’t spend much time there. There isn’t anything of interest immediately outside the hotel, this might seem slightly odd if you want to go outside for a walk. I had a rental car with me so I had the option of driving 5 minutes to the local shops etc.

Food Quality: I was particularly impressed with the food. The menu offered a variety of options, and everything I tried was delicious. The brownie cake? was a standout—it was perfectly cooked and presented. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were on point.
Final Thoughts: Overall, I would definitely recommend NH Koeln Altstadt to others. It was a memorable experience, and I’m looking forward to visiting again soon!

GGradoThe Hotel shows five stars! The room had no wifi whatsoever, although they showed three different wifi lans. Attempts to bridge this gap with mobile hotspots were not helpful. Noises from other rooms were audible, which means a bad noise insulation. Worst of all was that there was first only boiling hot water in the bathroom. This was due to the fact that all cold water supplies were closed. Still after opening them ourselves, one of the two lavatories cold water regulator was not functional. Shocking was that the shower was switching from regulated 38 degrees Celsius to suddenly boiling hot water and then to ice cold water. This made showering an unpleasant not to say dangerous encounter! You judge if this Hotel deserves the five star rating. Our attempt to communicate the shortcomings was prompted with the statement that the maintenance technicians had left! (???)

AAlexanderWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

MMandyLocation and upkeep of the room are fantastic. Certainly a great choice if commuting in and out Cologne by train. However the customer service at the reception was horrible. He was unwelcoming and unhelpful. We arrived exactly at 3pm for check-in and were told the room is not available and needed to wait 30min, then we saw a small waiting group forming and when the other guests asked the other check-in receptionist, he said it's ok to check-in. Normally when the room isn't available, you would still process the check-in first but the first officer just brushed us off. Then we asked if there is a toilet and were told it's on 2nd floor but when my mom went up it's locked. So they made my old folks wait and not able to go toilet. Overall reception experience was just unfriendly and unhelpful but we were only staying a night so it's still a good choice for us for the convenience.

TThành Trung TrầnHygien, room, bed, quietness everything was great except that I got this problem with the receptionists. So I did explain to all the receptionist (that I saw-because I understand they work in shifts) that I lost 2 luggages due to the airline's mistake and airline will send them to this hostel where I would be staying (for 1 night only). I explained that if someone sent luggages here, please tell me asap because I needed to catch a train to Amsterdam the nextday noon. Imagine 35kg of personal belongs just dissapeared, I didnt have toothbrush, clean clothings.... I reminded them everything 3-4 hours when I saw a receptionist. After almost 27 hours of waiting in worry (which made me cannot enjoy the city), I talked to one receptionist to please check 1 more time becauze the airlines mailed me that they did send to the hostel at 4:30pm in the day I checked-in hostel, (only 4-5 hours after my flight time), she let me go it the luggage room and my luggages were there the whole time! So I waited in pain for 22 hours for nothing. I think it would be a bit obvious when 1 guy in delivery company uniform went in with 2 luggages and said ”this is from one of your customer.” But the receptionist just forgot it quickly and didnt tell me. I had to change a lot of my plan and I was feeling terible and stressful with the waiting and fear of lost luggages.
Beside that, the condition of rooms, facilities, warm water, sound proof windows were great.

EEHaaaaSimple hotel adjacent to main shopping area, 1 min walk from metro transport. 10 min walk from The Dome and Hauptbanhoff and the main tourist attractions.
No frills, basic, simple, clean room, with basic toiletries provided, a lift available until 10pm (see notes) decent continental buffet breakfast, luggage storage available. Friendly helpful staff.
Notes:
Check in closes at 10pm, with no night staff so get there before 10pm, access after this time is by key card only and lift only available from 1st floor..
Hotel is on quiet streets and overlooking a square so some general noise from drinkers in the early evening and busy at lunchtime. Signage for hotel is minimal, it's a quirky building surrounded by private housing, so look out on the glass doors for the turquoise Centro logo, if you find the ”night entrance door” walk round the corner to get to the main entrance again only denoted by a discrete sign on the door.
Bring a travel kettle and mug if you want a decent cup of tea, the breakfast hot water/coffee maker was broken during my visit! (And they're not provided in rooms).
Room served me well for 3 nights. Great location for seeing Cologne.

GGuest UserStay was ok but even for 3* I found various factors very upsetting;
#1. Stairwell main fire escape ALL doors were wedged open!! Is this legal?!
#2. Entering the room my first impression as a stained seemingly worn out carpet looking disgusting!!
#3. Using the toilet I found I could not close the door because the toilet IS IN THE WAY!!! *******!!!
#4. The safe for my keys, money and passport was BROKEN and impossible to use - no handle, no batteries. This gave me a worried feeling throughout my stay!!!
#5. THE TELEVISION DID NOT WORK - and it seems HASNT WORKED FOR WEEKS!! Outrageous and in breach of your contract.
#6. A small but simple point to correct - a missing bedside lamp shade.
#7. Finally just a point of service with the lady serving breakfast noisily clipclooping about in her shoes as well as being surly and noisy with serving and clearing breakfast

FFayeExcellent location, only about 200 metres away from Cologne cathedral - this made it very practical when arriving at the main train station. The hotel itself is clean but has dark corridors and could do with renovation / modernisation. My room was large and comfortable but the furnishings were basic and the WiFI connection wasn't working at all
