"During the exhibition, house prices rose sharply. I found this hotel with a good price-performance ratio. The service of the German brother at the front desk was great. When I checked out, I found that the hotel seemed to be operated by a Chinese. The room is quite large, can accommodate two people, the decoration is simple, the toilet is a bit small, the sound insulation is not very good, it has no effect on people like me who are easy to fall asleep, the rest is not lost, the hotel also sent a bottle of sparkling water Not bad! The transportation is fairly convenient. You can walk to the subway and train station in ten minutes, and you can also walk to the cathedral in a straight road, which can be reached in more than twenty minutes."

"The location is good, it's only a ten-minute walk to Cologne Cathedral, and it's also very close to the main train station. The hotel is not big, the decoration is OK, it feels like the money has been spent on the whole house smart system, there is no small refrigerator but there is a coffee machine. The toiletries are L'Occitane and they are pretty good, overall it's OK. Because there is a premium during the exhibition, everything else is OK."
"First of all, the price of this hotel is average
His position is not very good for the evening.
Those used to be over 20 euros.
But the staff downstairs is very good!
Thinking of the room space is really not too big, but it is OK
But the room has unknown creatures, the equipment is small and simple
No air conditioning
But overall, it is acceptable!
The bed is big! The bathroom location is also big
But the bathing space is a bit strange 😅😂
Staff are very good
Give them bottles, and they will be willing to fill water for free to the guests
And free oranges!
Although their traffic is not very convenient
But because there's a game show in Cologne recently
This hotel is also a good choice "
"Stayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again."
"Took a short break in Cologne during weekend. Marriott is a nice place to stay with five minutes walk from the central station. Easy to find on arrival and easy for your departure by catching a train to airport. Very cozy bed and clean room with minimal noise.
Except the WiFi takes a bit longer to activate but that’s fine."
"Great location, this Hilton has great sized rooms, comfortable beds and perfect service. Ideal for families and for those travelling via train as the station is only a 5 min walk. Cathedral and old town are also very close by to explore."
"The location is good, there is a balcony, blowing the wind in the European streets is quite beautiful. It was hard to stay in the machine at the door. Our family didn't know German. Even the guessing was finally in. Said that there will be breakfast, only 4 euros, excited to live in and began to find, and confirmed with Ctrip's customer service, but found it downstairs for a long time did not find. The owner of the restaurant on the side is very impatient to say that it has nothing to do with the hotel, and it is not convenient to ask. The bed is not big, the bathroom is quite simple, there is no slippers, there is a hot water bottle, but the price is also grabbed, the location is still so good, walk 5 minutes to the cathedral, walk 3 minutes from the central railway station, walk 15 minutes to a commercial District, there are several tramps downstairs, it seems that it is a gathering point, but also a big dog, a little scary, but did not hurt anyone. Overall, the price/performance ratio is still ok."

DDean MauriceThis hotel was the perfect base for exploring Cologne and made for a relaxing stay with its modern and quiet location. This hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the major attractions in Cologne and many good restaurants. It is not far from the Cologne Cathedral, Hay Market and Old Market and the hotel is a stone's throw to the chocolate museum.
The room was nicely appointed and very trendy. It had a mini fridge, coffee/tea station with a variety of tea, complimentary sparkling water, a couple of chairs, a long counter for the sink/desk and a large TV. There is enough lighting for the room and plenty of counter space for our things but we only had an outlet on one side of the bed.
The shower was very nice with good water pressure and individual bath products for body wash, shampoo and conditioner. We aren't sold on the scent but felt very clean afterwards. There is a window separating the bathroom from the rest of the room that is painted over but one of the previous guests had made a peephole which was not an issue for us.
Staff were friendly and helpful at this hotel. Check in was smooth and they gave us some chocolate and three cards. They did not explain the cards to us but it turns out they can get a complimentary coffee, beer, wine or soft drink at the bar - we did not realize this until the next day but they did allow us to take some fritz cola for the road.
The breakfast was excellent. Lots of little unexpected surprises like the herb cream cheese for bread, fresh egg salad, and wild garlic cheese. They had a good selection of hot items with sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, meatballs, hash browns, mushrooms and some vegetable balls. The cold items were good too with a variety of deli meats, cheeses, a muesli/yogurt bowl station. They had some juices, loose leaf teas and coffee machines.
We didn't book for amenities but we were surprised with what the hotel offered. They have a rooftop terrace which gives a pretty good view of the surrounding area, a lobby bar where you can relax, a fitness room and a sauna. They also have a welcome station that they stock with fresh fruit, pastries and flavoured water that you can drop in at any time. The art side of the hotel was interesting with a nice open layout in the lobby area that let in lots of lighting and some nice decor throughout the hotel. The hotel has a safe and secure underground parking garage that cost 25 euros for the night when we stayed. Only issue we had with the garage is that it is a bit tight down there and it was tricky to get out because someone chose to park in the area where cars can turnaround.
This is a good hotel in a good area and we felt the price was good for our budget when we stayed in Cologne.

GGuest UserHotel itself is modern and clean. Approx 20 mins stroll from the main train station and over the road form the chocolatr museum. However... As previously mentioned by other visitors the breakfast food was not hot, which was surprising considering we took breakfast when it opened at 7.30am. It was also difficult to sleep as the air con/heater did not work - again something mentioned by other guests. We initially stayed on the 3rd floor, facing the road and the Rheine but requested to move on the 2nd night as the room was too hot and the road was too noisy to open the window to let some air in. When asking reception if someone could look at the air con we were told that because it March the universal setting was for heat only and that we could not turn the setting down. If you're at all familiar with being menopausal or know a woman who is menopausal, you'll know that being hot at night time is unbareable. This made it impossible for me to sleep properly and for the above two reasons, we would not return to this hotel.

Very Good
BBrianLyskirchen Köln is such a good choice even the locals and traveling Germans recommend it. The location is 5-7 minutes away from the Chocolate Museum and roughly 15 minutes from the cathedral and central station. You can easily walk to the restaurants (including a nice Thai place called Krua Thai) and bars and reach the Roman museum and Hohenzollern bridge without much effort. The rooms at Lyskirchen are comfortable but don't expect the typical extras associated with 4-star hotels. I was grateful for the swimming pool, which was spacious enough that kids don't bother you when you do short laps (most will be disappointed with the gym though). I highly recommend doing the online check-in because the front desk will tell you to perform it there anyway. Lyskirchen Köln has these really nice eco-friendly keycards too. The breakfast is typical intercontinental and limited (so if it's not included with the room the 25 euros isn't worth it). Overall, the hotel is still an excellent choice for a brief stop at Köln.

Very Good
AAlexanderWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!
TThành Trung TrầnHygien, room, bed, quietness everything was great except that I got this problem with the receptionists. So I did explain to all the receptionist (that I saw-because I understand they work in shifts) that I lost 2 luggages due to the airline's mistake and airline will send them to this hostel where I would be staying (for 1 night only). I explained that if someone sent luggages here, please tell me asap because I needed to catch a train to Amsterdam the nextday noon. Imagine 35kg of personal belongs just dissapeared, I didnt have toothbrush, clean clothings.... I reminded them everything 3-4 hours when I saw a receptionist. After almost 27 hours of waiting in worry (which made me cannot enjoy the city), I talked to one receptionist to please check 1 more time becauze the airlines mailed me that they did send to the hostel at 4:30pm in the day I checked-in hostel, (only 4-5 hours after my flight time), she let me go it the luggage room and my luggages were there the whole time! So I waited in pain for 22 hours for nothing. I think it would be a bit obvious when 1 guy in delivery company uniform went in with 2 luggages and said ”this is from one of your customer.” But the receptionist just forgot it quickly and didnt tell me. I had to change a lot of my plan and I was feeling terible and stressful with the waiting and fear of lost luggages.
Beside that, the condition of rooms, facilities, warm water, sound proof windows were great.

Iichikokiku⭐ Hotel Review: Merian Hotel, Cologne
I stayed at Merian Hotel in Cologne, and I must say — the location and price were unbeatable!
📍 Perfect Location
The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). It’s incredibly convenient if you’re traveling by train or planning to explore the old town on foot. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and major attractions in under 10 minutes.
💰 Excellent Value for Money
For such a prime central location, the room rate was very affordable. It’s rare to find a hotel this close to the station and city center at such a low price. The room was basic but clean, and included breakfast, which made it an even better deal.
🛏️ Room Tips
Rooms facing the street or train station might get a bit noisy, so I recommend asking for a quiet room facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper.
NNina ShahidI arrived in Köln at 12pm from 14 hours bus journey, they let me do early check in. My single room can only be access by stairs, the receptionist saw me with heavy luggage so he change my room that can be access with lift which is double room. I paid for single but got double instead. Im very very happy with the hospitality given by the hotel, specifically by the young black hair guy (I wish I know his name) that helps me a lot knowing that this is my first time in Europe. *************, I’m very grateful.
The hotel is nearby Cologne Hbf, less than 5 minutes walk. The room & bathroom are clean & comfortable. Very recommend to stay here, staff are all so kind & helpful.

EEHaaaaSimple hotel adjacent to main shopping area, 1 min walk from metro transport. 10 min walk from The Dome and Hauptbanhoff and the main tourist attractions.
No frills, basic, simple, clean room, with basic toiletries provided, a lift available until 10pm (see notes) decent continental buffet breakfast, luggage storage available. Friendly helpful staff.
Notes:
Check in closes at 10pm, with no night staff so get there before 10pm, access after this time is by key card only and lift only available from 1st floor..
Hotel is on quiet streets and overlooking a square so some general noise from drinkers in the early evening and busy at lunchtime. Signage for hotel is minimal, it's a quirky building surrounded by private housing, so look out on the glass doors for the turquoise Centro logo, if you find the ”night entrance door” walk round the corner to get to the main entrance again only denoted by a discrete sign on the door.
Bring a travel kettle and mug if you want a decent cup of tea, the breakfast hot water/coffee maker was broken during my visit! (And they're not provided in rooms).
Room served me well for 3 nights. Great location for seeing Cologne.
