The hotel environment is a bit old, and the bathroom has a bathtub. There are no power outlets by the bedside. They clean the room every day, and it's quite spacious, but the elevators can get a bit crowded during peak hours.
As for the location, it's right across from Hyde Park, a few hundred meters from the Australian Museum, and the Museum subway station. While the Opera House is only a little over 1 km away, it still takes a bit of a walk. It's not right in the city center; you have to walk about ten minutes to find food.
It takes about fifteen minutes to walk to Chinatown, the Opera House, and Darling Harbour. Maybe I walked too much those few days, but it felt a bit far.
