The bathroom was a bit dirty. The toilet and shower were in one room, and the smell was a bit strong. There were no curtains around the bed, so it was okay. The location was good, the breakfast was good, and the service was okay. Better hygiene would have been nice.

Beds are clean and already prepared for you upon arrival. Requested for a lower bunk bed and was given one! The toilets are clean especially when the shower and the toilet are separated. The room I was in has two separate sinks outside in the room, which will definitely prevent people from waiting… overall it is good and I will visit again if I’m in Edinburgh. Just beside the train station

From the airport I took the Airlink 100 and drop off at Shandwick Place, then took a short walk for about 0.6 miles to reach the hostel at West Port. You could get a view of the Edinburgh castle right across the hostel. There are cafes, diners and bars just across the road. Victoria street is 5 mins walk away. Everything else is just nearby. I was abit skeptical to book the mixed dorm at first but it was relatively safe in overall. Specifically requested for a lower bunk bed due to my leg injury & I was assigned exactly the way I wanted. The room is spacious however it has a funny smell though, probably because it was occupied with 12 people. I was given the room on level 1, near to the kitchen & chill-out room. Mixed bathroom was kinda clean but the yellow shower cubicle's shower was broken. I had to keep pressing the button for the water to run. Everything was great nonetheless. Staffs were friendly. Locker room service was out of my expectation to be frank. I'd recommend friends to stay however preferably ask them to book a private room for personal best interest, and to get good sleep without the ”symphony of snoring”.

The overall performance of the hotel is a bit over the average level. The most satisfactory point of it is the location. It is very convenient for the guests to wander about the old castle area. They can go to the sightseeing attraction and to the tourist information centre easily. There are also different kinds of restaurants. So people have wider choices to choose their meals.

We recently stayed at Novotel Edinburgh for our first wedding anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so special, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the city. The hotel even surprised us with a lovely anniversary treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The location was ideal—close to all the main attractions, yet peaceful enough for a relaxing stay. We also enjoyed the hotel’s facilities, especially the pool and bar area, which added to the overall luxury of our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you, Novotel Edinburgh, for making our special occasion truly memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. When i arrived we were given a noisy connecting room facing the construction site.I could hear people speaking from the next room clearly and they were really noisy as well. The Front office guy manager helped us check-in.Next day there was a very nice lady named Andrrea (sorry if i spelled it wrong)she helped us move to this beautiful room with the view. She was very helpful and always smiling.Breakfast was really nice. But the only thing i am disappointed with is that there were no toothbrush and slippers in the room. The Housekeeping team only cleaned our room but didn’t refill any amenities like water, toilet rolls, coffee, milk and even the hand towel from the bathroom so i had to ask for everything when i came back to my room. Its quite embarrassing for me to ask for these myself tbh.I would love to see Andrrea again when come back.

Huge hostel right next to the train station. They run a lot of people through this place because it is reasonably priced which is the exception in Edinburgh. Location is good. The beds were above average but the hand dryers from the bathroom areas can be heard in the bedrooms an the trains can be heard during the day. They try to keep the bathrooms clean but it is a losing battle given the sheer number of people staying there. The bar that was attached had good food and reasonable drink specials. If you need budget accommodations in Edinburgh this is the place.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Edinburgh, very spacious and clean, very close to the train station, just opposite. What I like most is the toiletries they use, the brand is noble isle, especially the whiskey-scented hand sanitizer. The hotel does not have a front desk, so you need to call and ask for a code before checking in. The good thing is that the check-in time is 3 pm, and we arrived at 1 pm and we were allowed to check in early. However, there is no elevator in the hotel, and the highest floor is on the fifth floor. It may be difficult to get there if you have heavy luggage.

Google Maps brought us to wrong place. Be careful! Hotel is good location. Much bigger than what it looks from outside. Parking is limited and requires extra payment. We could not parked onsite and was directed to park at another nearby APEX hotel. We love the rubber ducky!

Super recommend!!! It was truly clean, modern, comfortable, convenient and everything was there that you will need. It was really amazing place to stay. I wish I could stay longer if I don’t have any plan after this. Bath amenities were also provided, kitchen had everything, washing and drying machines was good. If you open the drawer of mirror-desk, you can find the guide book. This place is the best to stay in Edinburgh. Thank you so much Holyrood apart hotel

MMELISSAOverall, our stay at The Wild Hotel was pleasant. The location is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff was friendly. However, the electronic heating management system was a major issue. Every night, the temperature fluctuated from tropical heat to freezing cold, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. We brought this up with the staff, but unfortunately, not much was done to fix the problem. If they can sort out the heating system, this would be a great place to stay.

TTianshangxiaoyunThe location of the hotel is excellent, exit the train station, 3 minutes walk. It is still a place to take pictures and punch in. It feels good to live in the scenery of others! The most important thing is to go to Edinburgh, the art gallery net red can be reached in a few minutes. A little expensive is true. Hotels in Edinburgh are generally expensive.

GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all…. The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling. When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned. The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!! Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed Room 210, 26.10-28.10 2024

NNishant MittalI think the hotel location is very good, almost touching the royal mile with just few meters away. This hotel is suitable for solo or business travelers as this is an express hotel. The room we got was very small in size 19m2 not suitable for family with a kid. There was no refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was very ordinary with very few options so, I will not suggest to take breakfast at this hotel, in fact people can scout on royal mile for a decent restaurant. Overall, 1 or 2 days should be ok without much hassle but if you are planning to spend some more time then I will not suggest for this hotel. Staff was always helpful and they do the best to guide you for things.

GGuest UserThere is nothing to say about the location, the Royal Mile is just outside the door, and it is also very close to the train station. I don't know if it's because it just happened to be in time for the Edinburgh International Art Festival. The cleaning on the first day was missed, and the room facilities are relatively old and smelly. But it still doesn't affect our love for Edinburgh. I really hope that we are still in Edinburgh every day when we open our eyes!

AAnonymous UserThe place is in a very good location. The staffs are helpful when facing problems. The shower room and toilet are separated. I would stay here again if I come back to Edinburgh. I would recommend bringing your earplugs with you if you’re sensitive to noises when sleeping. They help a lot. Also, bring your padlocks for storage case if you don’t want to buy it at the counter for £2.

RRobertIts a Premier INN, a low cost, basic hotel room. The rooms are a good size but the double bed has only two pillows. There was only one large towel in the room. There is no fridge. We were given only one room key which can be a bit annoying. It has minimal service, minimal staff, you can self check-in and just drop the keys to check out. It is Ok if you are clear on what you are getting.
