"The room was spotless, as expected from Red Lion. A nice bonus was the complimentary coffee and bread, available for pickup in the lobby from 7 AM. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with a gas station right next door and a Whole Foods Market directly across the street!"

"A gorgeous hotel on Cannery Row. The room was super big and comfortable. Yes, it's an old hotel with history, but everything was clean, and it had the best bed I've slept in during my month in the US. You just don't want to get out of it! The mattress and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and there was a duvet cover – I was surprised, as I hadn't seen one anywhere else and thought they didn't know what it was here, but apparently, they do. The service was top-notch; they helped with luggage during check-in and check-out, and the ladies at reception were very responsive. Everything you need is in the room. The bathroom is spacious, the room is large and comfortable, and sleeping with the window open is a pure delight. The only downside is the showerhead – it's a plague in hotels! It's fixed to the wall and has very weak water pressure, which is a disaster. It's impossible to shower without getting your hair wet if you don't have a shower cap. And the hairdryer! That's just a tragedy for a hotel of this caliber. The hairdryer was like my grandma's, so old and weak. I practically burned all my hair with it. I called reception and asked for another one, but they said all rooms only have that type of hairdryer. I told them it was a tragedy, that it takes an hour to dry your hair, and I don't know what century it's from. The views from the hotel are amazing, with panoramic windows, and the restaurant is one of the best in the city. The location is 🔝."

"Great location! I had a conference at the Monterey Conference which is less than a 3 min walk! Only thing was that there was no AC, I’m so used to assuming that hotels always have AC, but it was my bad for not checking ahead of time. I asked for a roll out bed, and they were able to provide that, depending on availability at no extra cost. Had a good stay! Quite historical hotel."

"Everything was good except the fact of someone pounding on my door at 1:00am then they took off! It was ridiculously unacceptable as they think it’s funny! Other then that, the view of the beach from our room was spectacular. Well worth the cost. Checking in/out was quick and easy."

"The hotel has a beautiful garden, a large parking lot, and a very nice pool. We happened to check in during an event, and the room we got wasn't great, but the hotel apologized for it. It's a 10-minute drive to the whale watching spot. Hotel prices in Monterey aren't cheap, and we had a comfortable Chinese meal at the pier."

"A typical American motel with a good location, just across the road is Macy's and some restaurants. There is also a drug store CVS, but unfortunately I did not buy a mask. There is a swimming pool and gym in the hotel, but the pool is small and slightly larger than the bathtub. The gym is also very small"

"One of the best hotels in the zone. Very friendly staff, spacious room, clean bathroom with shower and bath both, close to main street. I am really happy we decided to stay there. The hotel also is giving you an option to use a car valet or use self parking in the garage."

"This hotel is in a small town we passed through while driving along Highway 1. It's quite clean, and breakfast was just apples and energy bars. Overall, it offers good value for money. There's also a pool, but it was too cold to swim."

"I was given a semi-basement room with a narrow skylight when I checked in, and I decisively changed to a second-floor balcony room. If you are not satisfied with your stay, you must change the room, otherwise you will feel that our Chinese are easy to fool. The area near the hotel is very suitable for vacation and very comfortable."
