"I had such a great stay in Tacheng, thanks to the hotel’s owner! When I planned my Yunnan trip and asked AI to help me (because of the lack of online information in English), and it recommended me to go to Tacheng to see the snub-nosed monkeys, little did I know that nothing could be done there without a car. Fellow travelers, just so you know: there are no bus stations nor taxis in Tacheng. I of course only realized it once I arrived. I felt dumb (no I do not have a car nor a driver), but the hotel’s owner was super kind and gave my friend and I free roundtrip rides, to the hotel and in the early morning to the Snub-nosed Monkey Park (that is closeby). Because the closest restaurant was 42 km away, we were given a generous and delicious dinner. (It was supposed to be 50 rmb but at the end the boss made it free.) I’m vegetarian and the boss accommodated me. The breakfast, that was included in the price, was also generous and delicious. As for the hotel, it was beautiful and comfortable. There’s a really nice living room (we were given free fruits and free beer!) and a really nice patio as well. The room was clean, the pillows were so soft and the shower was surprisingly techno. I slept very well, even though a rooster started to crow in the early morning (so remember to close the window before going to sleep). In the evening, we walked in the surroundings and I liked it so much, it was picturesque and peaceful. My stay in Tacheng could’ve been a nightmare but thanks to the hotel’s owner, I really enjoyed it (and I got to see the famous snub-nosed monkeys!) So I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, where I didn’t expect so much kindness and generosity."

"Located in a quiet and beautiful town at the foot of the Baima Snow Mountain, there are very few tourists. We came here for the beautiful Yunnan golden monkeys. Although there are not many people, there are many large supermarkets with all kinds of food, drinks and daily necessities. It feels more convenient than Shanghai and the prices are very cheap. Checking into the hotel, the sunset sunlight shining on the curtains, the quaint wooden furniture and wall panels, and the smell of distant smoke gave me the illusion of returning to my childhood home. Unfortunately, I heard that this place will no longer exist in the future. The whole town will be moved away for flood prevention."

"1. Let me first talk about the areas that I would like to improve: The road from the hotel to the hotel is a mechanized farming road with many large bends that can only accommodate one car. There are ditches on both sides, and basically only cars can pass near the hotel. When I left the hotel, I reversed several times to let the hotel's two business cars and one off-road vehicle pass (I let the hotel's car pass!), which delayed at least half an hour. And I felt that the hotel driver was particularly unfriendly. 2. Simply speaking, the environment and service of the hotel are good. The hotel's ham and chicken soup are very good, and the portion is relatively large. If the weather is good, you can see the starry sky (there is little light pollution around) 3. Because it is a wooden building, the sound insulation is not very good, and it is a bit of a headache when encountering children playing. 4. It is mainly convenient to see golden monkeys in the morning, and staying for one night is enough. (Except for being in a daze). There are not many other activities, and the surrounding villages are not very ethnic."

"This hotel simply exceeded my expectations. The hotel facilities are very complete, and the quilt and pillows also exude a faint fragrance, so that I can have a high-quality sleep all night. The hygiene of the room is impeccable, spotless, and very new, very convenient to use. The hotel's dining is a highlight. The breakfast is rich and varied, with traditional Chinese cuisine and delicious taste. "The hotel is impeccable, the rooms are clean and tidy, the service is warm and thoughtful, I will choose this next time! "The hotel is quite large for the area, so the parking lot is also quite large, which is rare in the area, and can probably accommodate over 20 cars. The owner can arrange interactions with locals, home visits, and cultural heritage experiences. The bedding and toiletries are excellent. The shower has strong water pressure and plenty of water, and the shower floor drain drains quickly, preventing water from accumulating. Breakfast, tea/coffee, and meals by the fields are a fantastic setting. I found the breakfast delicious, featuring local, seasonal ingredients. Tacheng isn't as well-known as Shangri-La in Lijiang. At an altitude of around 2,400 meters, the climate is excellent, and it's definitely worth a 2-3 night stay to experience it all. You can hike, harvest, meditate, and more. Most importantly, local ethnic minorities (think Tibetans and Lisu) still live here. From your room or balcony, you can see the fields working in the distance. I have to say Songtsam's location is a sure win. (This is not a review of the Songtsam Hotel.) There are also many boutique B&Bs in the area, all very unique, so be sure to book in advance."

"The room is very new and it is now a trial operation stage. My button was dropped and I asked if there was a sewing bag at the front desk and sent it to me immediately. There is flower tea in the lobby. It is not rich early but there are things to add. The rice noodles are delicious. The soy milk is freshly ground soy milk. It is good to supplement progesterone. I will go live next time."

"I come to live for a few days every year, the environment is quiet, the blue sky, white clouds, green mountains, I like it! It was this stay, the wallpaper was broken and there were moldy marks, which greatly affected the mood!"

"The environment is great, the room layout is very warm, and the key is that it is equipped with disposable towels and bath towels. Weixi is great, I will stay here again next time. It’s not easy to use online taxis in Weixi, so remember to ask the lady at the front desk for a few taxi numbers and call to book a taxi!"

"We had a great stay at this family-fun guesthouse (we are a family of three, travelling with a 3-year-old). The owners were super-friendly and very generous - they offered us complimentary fruit, including watermelon from their own field behind, wild honey, and even cooked some wild mushrooms that we had picked in the woods for us (after double-checking that they were edible!) The guestrooms are clean, light, comfortable and spacious - and there is air conditioning available in case it's slightly warmer in the summer months. The mattresses were also fairly comfortable. The location is great - next to a river, about a 10-minute drive up from Tacheng Town. This makes getting to the monkey reserve and Damozushi Temple (the main attractions) more convenient. On the food side, the breakfast was hearty to the extreme and varied from day to day, with various local specialties including local ******* Yak Butter Tea. Pretty much everything was homemade. You can also eat there in the evenings to avoid driving to town - and the lady that runs it is a great cook. Other pros include the lovely decking by the river and the walkway that the village has developed along the river bank - perfect for a morning/evening stroll, or in our case, taking our little one for a spin on her balance bike. We live in Lijiang, so not too far away - and will definitely be coming back to stay here again. 这次我们带着三岁的小宝贝，全家三口人在这家很有家庭味的客栈住得特别开心。老板夫妻特别热情大方，请我们吃自家地里种的西瓜、野蜂蜜，还帮我们把在山里采的野生菌烹调好（还贴心地先确认能不能吃），味道真是一绝！ 房间干净明亮，宽敞舒适，夏天稍热的时候还有空调可用，床垫也挺舒服的，睡得很踏实。 位置很好，就在河边，离塔城镇开车大概十分钟。去猴子保护区和达摩祖师庙这些景点都很方便。 早餐丰盛得不得了，而且天天不重样，还有不少当地特色，比如藏族的酥油茶，基本都是自家做的。晚餐也可以直接在客栈吃，省得开车去镇上，老板娘手艺没得说。 另外，河边的露台和村里沿河修的栈道都很美，早晚散步很舒服，我们还带着孩子在那儿骑平衡车，玩得不亦乐乎。 我们平时生活在丽江，离这里不算远，以后一定会再来！"
