"We had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Apollo Bay. The property was easy to find, and one of the most convenient features was the parking located directly in front of the room, making loading and unloading luggage effortless.

"1. The view is spectacular. The property faces a beach, just across the road. On clear days, you can admire the sunrise glow straight from bed. The building faces south, while the sun rises in the east, so you will mainly see the morning twilight from the room. Head down to the beach if you want a better view of the sunrise.
When the sky is clear, the Milky Way is visible right outside. Unfortunately, cloudy weather meant I could not catch sight of it during my stay. Even so, I still enjoyed the most brilliant starry sky of the whole trip. The small lake on the grounds creates beautiful reflections of the sea.
2. Excellent heating for winter stays. I originally feared it would be far too cold in winter, but there was no need for worry. There is a genuine wood-burning fireplace that keeps the space wonderfully warm and creates such a lovely atmosphere. An air conditioner and an electric heater in the smaller room provide extra warmth.
The only drawback is its distance from the town centre, which could be inconvenient if you are not self-driving. Visitors with a car won’t have any trouble at all."

"We booked a two-bedroom suite, which was actually two separate rooms connected, and having two bathrooms was a definite plus. The location is right in the town center, making it super convenient for dining and shopping. There's an underground parking lot, but the entrance is a bit tricky to find; you'll need to slow down and look carefully as you approach. Check-in was handled by a handsome Chinese guy, which was a nice touch 😋. On the downside, the living room floor was a bit slippery, the lighting in the room was a bit dim, and the bathroom was a little cold at night. The picture is of a nearby burger joint, which was quite good!"

"I had accidentally booked the wrong dates for my reservation. When I arrived at the hotel to check in that evening, they couldn't find my booking. I ended up having to book a room on the spot... Luckily, there was one last room available, but unfortunately, it was on the second floor. This was really inconvenient for me as I had two large and heavy suitcases... The hotel's occupancy rate was also very high; the parking lot was almost full, and we had to squeeze our car into a spot... The room we were given had a major flaw: the air conditioning was in the living room, but the bathroom was tucked behind a small bar area. Plus, the toilet had a skylight, so no warm air from the AC reached it, making it incredibly cold when showering at night..."

If you want to replicate those online photo effects, you'll need to arrive early in the afternoon. Mornings have strong backlighting, so unless you bring your own lighting for staged shots, forget about getting good pictures, haha. 3. The restaurant's food is just okay, not as amazing as online reviews suggest, but if your sole purpose is to get some Instagram-worthy shots, then never mind what I said. That evening, the server recommended a fish they had just caught, claiming it was delicious. To me, it tasted no different from frozen fish. Hmm, what can I say? For good fish, you're better off heading to Guangdong~ 😂"

"The room was very clean, and the deposit was refunded super promptly! I checked out that day and received the refund that same evening! It also came equipped with kitchenware, and the location is excellent, just a three to four-minute walk from the main street. Award-winning ice cream, a Chinese restaurant, and a supermarket are all within a five-minute walk. I highly recommend everyone try the Wonderful Restaurant! The Cantonese chef's cooking is delicious! The fried rice and stir-fries have that amazing 'wok hei' (wok-fired aroma), and the proprietress's beef brisket rice is generous and tasty! I also tried the ginger and scallion kangaroo, which was incredibly tender!"

KellyAlex2324We stayed here for one night and had a pleasant overall experience. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the room heating could be adjusted to our preferred temperature. It became a little warm during the night, but after turning the heater off, it was perfect.
Although we arrived quite late, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They even drew us a simple map by hand to show us exactly where our room was and how to get there, which was a thoughtful gesture that made check-in very easy. The motel also provides free parking, which was very convenient for us as we were driving.
The only disappointment was the weather. It rained throughout the entire night and continued into the next morning, so unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the ocean view across the road.
Another downside was that someone outside was shouting and repeatedly yelling profanity in the middle of the night, which disturbed our sleep. Hopefully the property can do more to manage noise during late hours.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and thoughtful, and the free parking was a great bonus. We would happily stay here again, especially if the weather is better next time.

During our Great Ocean Road trip, we chose to stay at the Coast Motel in Apollo Bay, and the overall experience was fantastic – highly recommended!
First off, the location is excellent, right near Apollo Bay town, making it super convenient to drive in and out. It's easy to get to the beach or nearby restaurants. The surrounding area is quiet and pleasant, creating a wonderful holiday atmosphere where you can really relax and unwind at night.
The room was clean and tidy, and the space was more generous than expected; we had no trouble spreading out our luggage. The bed was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, which is incredibly important after a long drive on the Great Ocean Road. All the basic amenities were provided and worked perfectly.
A huge plus was the convenient parking; we could almost park right outside our room, making luggage handling incredibly easy – very friendly for self-driving travelers.
The staff were also very friendly. Check-in was smooth, and they were always willing to help when needed, making the whole experience feel very relaxed and stress-free.
Overall, the Coast Motel offers reasonable prices and a comfortable environment, making it a perfect stopover on the Great Ocean Road. If I come back to Apollo Bay, I would definitely stay here again 👍

oliviachenzwWe are a family of 8, and we rented the entire unit, both downstairs and upstairs, for our stay. The weather was cold during our visit, but the beds were equipped with heaters, which made for a very comfortable night’s sleep.
Each floor has its own bathroom and kitchen, which was incredibly convenient for our large group. The bathrooms came with basic toiletries, although there was no toothpaste provided, so be sure to bring your own. The kitchens were well-equipped and functional, with simple seasonings like salt and pepper. We brought our own cooking oil, but everything else was perfect for preparing warm meals for dinner and breakfast.
The homestay is located in Marengo. One thing to note is that there are no supermarkets in Marengo itself, but Apollo Bay is just a few minutes' drive away. We recommend stocking up on groceries there before arriving if you plan to cook during your stay.
Parking was more than sufficient for our Kia Carnival 8-seater, so we had no trouble with that.
The area is wonderfully quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. We had a truly pleasant stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious and comfortable place to stay.

This was a good stopover on our Great Ocean Road trip. The room had a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side, with strong winds and rough seas the day we arrived. Apollo Bay has plenty of food options, so you don't need to worry about finding a meal when driving yourself. My only complaint is that I didn't see any hotel staff during our entire stay, so the service was practically non-existent. Also, parking in the courtyard is quite limited.

This hotel is run by Chinese owners, and I found the hygiene to be quite good. The only drawback is that the location is a bit remote and takes some searching to find. However, the facilities inside are really nice, with a spacious bathroom and a good-sized room. The main bed is in the living area.

Apollo Bay is the town where our family stayed the longest on this self-driving Great Ocean Road trip. Our family of five, two adults and three children, stayed in this cabin for three nights in a row. In addition to the beautiful scenery nearby, the most important thing is that it provides bicycles, boats, fishing rods, golf clubs, etc., and you can go to nearby courses. , play at the beach, we have fun every day! The owner Amanda and a friend of hers are taking care of these cabins. They are very nice people and can provide a lot of help to guests. For those of us living in domestic cities, burning wood in the fireplace to keep warm is a very interesting experience!

Excellent location for a stop by along the ocean road, 15 minutes drive to Apollo bay, quiet little property located at the foot of mountain and facing the sea, with fantastic ocean view and interesting rock and sand beach
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room of bay view is spacious with a small sitting room and all necessary utensils
People just need to bring necessary food and drink to cook for themselves as there is a bit distance from the town center
A little advice though: please provide air-conditioner for the accommodations as it’s pretty hot in summer in the room. It’s not comfortable and the guest cannot sleep well in the summer heat

It's amazing. I'm a super lazy guy who doesn't like to review, but this hotel really made me cry. It exceeded my expectations! I saw four wild koalas and a group of kangaroos! It's so beautiful, really, the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. Choose room 2, you must choose room 2! It feels like the cabin in the woods in the movie, with a farm on the left and a large group of sheep. If I have the opportunity to come to Apollo Bay again, I will definitely stay again without hesitation!

I used this hotel on the first day of the Great Ocean Road, when I moved from Melbourne to Apollo Bay.
I chose this hotel because it was cheaper than other accommodations.
The cleanliness of the room was commensurate with the price, and it felt like a student dormitory. (lol)
Towels, hair dryers, shampoo, and other amenities were all provided, so I personally didn't have any problems (no toothbrushes).
An international call is required to check in, so be careful about that. If you're looking to keep the price down, this is the place for you.
