"Previously, when visiting Yong'an, I always stayed at Yanjiang International or Wanjia International. Although these two hotels have decent online ratings, their facilities and decor are quite outdated. This time, my friend booked the St. Regis first, so we booked it too. The stay was very pleasant; it's a new hotel with modern decor but no unpleasant smells, and the style is quite fashionable. However, there are a few suggestions for improvement: 1. I called the front desk from my room many times in the morning, but no one answered; the service was lacking. However, the staff's attitude was still very good. 1. Hotel management lacks standardization; front desk staff wear uniform tops and jeans bottoms. 2. The guest room toilets are smart flushing devices, but lack smart washing and drying functions, making them only semi-smart and not truly meeting customer needs. Smart flushing isn't important; washing and drying are what consumers really want. 3. The room's smart control system wasn't properly configured. After turning off the main power switch, the smart curtains would automatically close, but the motor wouldn't stop automatically, causing it to keep running. I had to press the curtain closing panel again to stop the motor (I stayed in room 1302; please check this). I hope these issues will be improved on my next stay, and I would definitely return. I like all the room service including the front desk staff👍 The most ”exciting” part is here, and the key point is: it is not recommended to dine in the restaurant on the 2nd/3rd floor of the hotel. The service attitude of the catering department is really bad (note⚠️ I mean the dinner restaurant catering. The aunts who provide breakfast and cook flat meat rice noodles and noodles are super enthusiastic)! The story started when the hotel front desk informed that the restaurant was full that night (during the Spring Festival), but you can go to the restaurant to order dishes and have them delivered to the room. The waiter took us to the director of the catering department to order food. The director's reaction to the guests was to sit in his office chair and say, ”I'm busy and don't have time” (she can't even stand up in front of the guests, and can't do the most basic etiquette. How did she become this director? A relative?!) We didn't care much, and the waiter could only go to their manager. The manager gave us a menu. After looking at the menu, I found it a bit difficult (personal taste is used to authentic Cantonese cuisine, after seeing the mixed dishes on the pad). After the manager of the catering department heard me and my father say something, she suggested that if we feel that it is not suitable, we can go to the restaurant on the corner of the first floor. We immediately asked if the restaurant downstairs was of the same level of food, and the answer we got was: ”It's almost the same, our employees eat there.” But when we got downstairs, we were dumbfounded 🙄 a dimly lit small stall with worrying hygiene conditions. I really can't understand that a so-called four-star hotel catering manager still has such a poor understanding of customer needs when repeatedly asking guests to confirm whether the food is of the same level. We can only go back to the restaurant again and ask if we can introduce a nearby restaurant of the same level. The attitude of the waiter in the catering department was cold and impatient: ”Everywhere is full now, there are no seats, such as the old Yong'an in the street, Xi Xiangfeng, which are of the same level, but there should be no seats.” At that time, I was really angry. I thought, how could a four-star hotel have such a poor service in the catering department, especially during the Chinese New Year. The family had not been back to Yong'an for more than ten years. They went back happily to visit their relatives, but encountered such a bad thing. Afterwards, we also reported this situation to the hotel front desk, and the director of the housekeeping department also apologized to us (again, this matter has nothing to do with the housekeeping department), and proposed to send yogurt as compensation (I don't know if there is a tradition in domestic hotels to send yogurt to settle the matter, but we strongly refused), sister, I really don't need it. As guests, we are more inclined to believe that if this kind of catering service is not improved, it is equivalent to directly smashing the hotel's signboard, and a good housekeeping department will be implicated. Finally, we went to ”Xin Xiangfeng” for dinner. There is no harm without comparison. The catering service is enthusiastic and the dishes are well cooked. Next time I go to Yong'an, I will probably consider other four-star or above hotels. But I still want to say sincerely that apart from the issue with the food and beverage department, the entire stay experience was still good, and I would like to thank the housekeeping department and the front desk staff in particular.
