"I chose this hotel specifically because I love this brand's bathrooms—they're spacious with a great wet/dry separation. The room itself, however, was quite small. For airport bus access, it's actually closer to get off at Shinmachi Itchome, the stop *before* Aomori Station. After you get off, walk back a bit, and the hotel will be diagonally across the street. There's also a convenience store right at the entrance now."

"The hotel is right above the station; after exiting, take the elevator on your left directly up. It's super convenient to stay here in winter. The room is spacious enough for two 26-inch suitcases, and the view directly faces the Apple factory, which is fantastic. The hotel also has staff who speak Mandarin, making it very easy to ask for help. They even assisted us with making restaurant reservations, which was wonderful. However, the hotel's 'hot spring' is really just hot water, and because a high percentage of guests are Chinese, some families bring their kids to the 'hot spring,' and they can be very noisy, acting as if their children's antics are cute and innocent. I wouldn't recommend using the hot spring facility."

The location is abit far from Aomori station but I think it’s okay. There is a direct bus from Aomori airport to the hotel.

"Couldn't open the window, which made it feel a bit stuffy. Although the facilities were a bit old, they were very clean. The location is super convenient, right in Aomori's commercial district. It's within walking distance of famous scallop set meal restaurants, Korean BBQ, the local product museum, and more. I had originally planned to visit Oirase Gorge for a day, but a massive storm hit the entire Tohoku region. The day I was supposed to go, the scenic area was completely closed due to fear of landslides, and the Aomori railway was also affected, only resuming service in the afternoon. So, I ended up just wandering around the city all day, and checked out with regret the next morning, haha."

"When I book hotels in Japan, two things are most important to me:
1) Close to a JR station;
2) Separate toilet and bathroom.
Looking purely at distance, Toyoko Inn and Route-Inn are closer to the station and cheaper. However, after staying at MyStays, I'm so glad I chose it – I really made the right decision! It's also very close to the train station, and there are many restaurants and izakayas downstairs (a Western restaurant across the street, even though its Google rating isn't high, we ate there two nights in a row and the food was pretty good!). Each of our family of three had our own bed! The support was sufficient, very good! The building looks yellow and old from the outside, but it's really nice inside! Don't be fooled by its exterior! Five-star rating."

JJ. SimonLess than 5 mins walk to and from JR Shin-Aomori Station (East exit) which also houses the Aomori Tourist Information Centre.
I chose to stay near this JR Shin-Aomori station instead of JR Aomori station as the shinkansen doesn’t go to JR Aomori station. I need to take the shinkansen early in the morning on the following day to go to Akita and then transfer to the Akita shinkansen to head to my next accommodation in Tazawako.
From JR Shin-Aomori station, it’s convenient to take limited express trains direct to Hirosaki station to visit Hirosaki Castle and Park. It’s also a short journey to JR Aomori station which is where the city centre of Aomori is located.
Other than the F&B shops within Shin-Aomori station which close very early around 8pm if I recall correctly, there aren’t any F&B shops around the hotel.
Both Family Mart and Lawsons convenience stores are located a few mins walk from the South exit of the train station which is located on the other end of the station.

GGuest UserBreakfast and dinner are divided into Japanese and Western styles. Dinner is very ceremonial, especially French food. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and Suantang Hot Spring, and there is a shuttle bus. The restaurant has a good view. It is very pleasant to sit in the warm restaurant, drink hot coffee, and look at the snow outside.

FffdogluluMy first time in Aomori, my first time in Hakkoda, and my first time experiencing the world's heaviest snowfall ❄️! I never knew snow could be so soft and fluffy, like a soufflé 😌. I stayed at the Shirikura Hotel for three nights, and overall, it was a great experience, especially the food service. The breakfast was particularly abundant and delicious. What I remember most vividly was Mr. Sudo's attentive service and his genuine passion for his work. His parting greeting was very touching. I'm already thinking of coming back in the summer to experience the greenery of Hakkoda again.

GGuest UserFor less than 1400, supper comes out for supper, breakfast comes out. After breakfast, each person drinks a cup of coffee or tea at the bar. The hot spring is free to soak. It is only 20 minutes away from Aomori by tram. I think it is worth taking a half day alone as a relaxing trip. After all, Aomori is very small. I live in the city for a day to see the House of the Sandman and my favorite punch card. Hoshino, why not try it! It's not easy to find a hot spring street that is not in the old forest in the mountains these days (in fact, the hotels in Asamushi are a bit scattered). Talk about the shortcomings, the hotel welcomes you free of charge, but you need to make an appointment or call after you arrive at Asamushi Station. You do n’t need to worry about Japanese if you are in Japan. Even more trouble. However, you can try your luck. Saturday's pick-ups may be intensive, and we just happened to get in the car. If you go by yourself, it ’s not as easy to find as the other ones. Yu Zhi Tang is next to him, and it ’s not easy to find. On the contrary, those who can see the sea are very eye-catching and easy to find. The room is a bit small, to be honest, but eating well can make up for some regrets.

Ddragon0415The location is excellent, just over 300 meters on foot from Aomori Station, right behind the Fish and Vegetable Market (where you can get 12 self-selected seafood bowls for 2000 yen).
I agree with many reviews; the hotel is quite old. It has been around for a while, so there are no USB outlets whatsoever. The room size is decent, allowing enough space to open a suitcase. However, the bathroom is extremely small. How small, you ask? You'll hit your head when standing up from the toilet, and you're bound to bump into something when turning around.
But, my significant other was very satisfied. Even though it's old and the bathroom is tiny, it has a large public bath and its own restaurant. The public bath is also open to the public, with a communal lounge area, manga, and chairs for relaxation, and both indoor and outdoor bathing options. So, the issue with the bathroom is tolerable. The hotel's restaurant operates until 11 PM, and my significant other commented that the food was good and cheaper than outside izakayas, offering a good selection of basics (rice bowls, noodles, steak, sashimi, fried dishes, etc.). Because it has its own restaurant, the breakfast area is also spacious, with apples and apple juice that were delicious.
Overall, I highly recommend it.

The heavy rain that was falling when I checked in stopped the next morning, and I was able to gaze at the autumn-like sky and sea in front of my room for a while.
It had been a while since I'd stayed in a Japanese-style room, and I was able to enjoy local ingredients for both dinner and breakfast, making for a truly enjoyable holiday in Aomori.
It was also great that I was within walking distance of the prefectural aquarium.
There was a live Tsugaru shamisen performance in the evening, which really immersed me in the romantic atmosphere of travel and exceeded my expectations.
This is an inn that I would recommend to others.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Asamushi Onsen (about 20mins drive from Aomori downtown) as part of our 2025 Spring trip to Aomori area, and booked Tstsumikan Onsen hotel to stay for the night. The hotel location is great. I think all guest rooms come with open ocean view. No private hot spring tub in the guest room but the large gender-specific hot spring pools are open privately to the overnight stay guests from 8PM to the next morning. The stay comes with 2 meals. The food is good and the dinner was served directly in the guest room. The next morning Japanese breakfast was served in the great tatami dinning room, and the breakfast package even comes with free coffee in the gift shop café after the meal. The staff are warm, and the service is good. My recommendation to this hotel come with no hesitation.

GGuest UserJapanese hot spring hotel, simple, good environment. I was the only foreigner that day. It's just a few steps from Asamushi Station, but there are not many shops around and they have business hours. I arrived late that day and had no food, so I had to ask the front desk aunt to make an appointment for the hot spring. There are three, I randomly chose an empty one, the hygiene is OK, maybe there are not many people in the off-season, but if you have a cleanliness obsession, you can ignore the bath. I went to Aomori and came back late after dinner. The front desk changed to an uncle, who helped me connect to the wifi, and was quite kind. There was no hot water when I washed my face at 12 pm, and the toilet was also cold. The next morning, the water was still cold, but the toilet water was hot. When I left, the front desk changed to an old lady, who kept bowing to see me out. I wanted to smoke a cigarette in the yard before leaving, but I felt embarrassed. I waited for a while before going back to smoke one in the yard before leaving. If time is not urgent, I will stay next time and make an appointment for Japanese set meals in advance, both at noon and in the evening, (it must be early) It should be the kind that the surrounding merchants receive orders and deliver to the hotel, which is cheap and affordable.

GGuest UserGood location with lots of buses, there is an ATM in the convenience store next door which is useful. The building is very old and the furnishings could definitely be replaced. There is no air conditioning, the hotel sets the temperature and you choose how much to open the vent. Unfortunately the seal on the window in my room was broken so I was very cold and there was a lot of road noise. The bed was comfortable but the lights in my room would flicker and overall I think the appliances need to be replaced. I appreciated the curry and rice but even the doors don’t automatically lock and I was a bit scared as I was a woman staying alone. It’s okay for the price but I think if they replaced the furnishings it would look a lot better.
