"When I book hotels in Japan, two things are most important to me:
1) Close to a JR station;
2) Separate toilet and bathroom.
Looking purely at distance, Toyoko Inn and Route-Inn are closer to the station and cheaper. However, after staying at MyStays, I'm so glad I chose it – I really made the right decision! It's also very close to the train station, and there are many restaurants and izakayas downstairs (a Western restaurant across the street, even though its Google rating isn't high, we ate there two nights in a row and the food was pretty good!). Each of our family of three had our own bed! The support was sufficient, very good! The building looks yellow and old from the outside, but it's really nice inside! Don't be fooled by its exterior! Five-star rating."

"Hotel is not as near as I would like it to be. A good 10 mins walk across multiple traffic lights. First floor is restaurant and connected to Lawson. Checking on 2nd floor and has plenty of amenities included drip coffee! The key distinct difference in all the Japanese hotel is the tiny hotel. Not this hotel! The shower area and bathtub is spacious. The view from 12th floor lift is fantastic- can see the bridge. Breakfast has typical Japanese spread and included raw tuna pieces."

"I thought that 1km from the station would be a comfortable distance, but if you walk in the wind and snow in winter, it will be completely different. It really looks far away, and the service is very good.The hotel offers free apple juice in the lobby, which is also a local specialty."

"This was the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to Japan. Relabo is directly connected to the JR station, so you can check in on the 4th floor without even leaving the station. The hotel is brand new, the facilities are excellent, the bed is incredibly soft, and both the duvet and the room smell wonderful. It's convenient for getting anywhere, with the bus terminal right downstairs. It's a 5-minute walk to A-Factory and Nebuta House, 10 minutes to the Triangle Fish Market, and Sukeroku Izakaya is also within walking distance. There's a drugstore right opposite the elevator that's open until 10 PM. The public bath is clean and tidy with no dust; one of the two pools has floating real apples and an apple-infused hot spring bath, and the relaxation room offers apple detox water. The hotel staff speak good English, and there are even foreign staff members. The front desk service was a bit less impressive; a few more smiles for guests, even if not genuine, would be a necessary improvement."

I love the idea that you can choose the cleaning or not cleaning on the television.
You can also see the status of the laundry on the television.
The location is abit far from Aomori station but I think it’s okay. There is a direct bus from Aomori airport to the hotel.
There is a convenience store nearby."

"This is my favorite hotel chain to book in Japan; you can't really go wrong with it. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and actually a bit more spacious than I expected.
It's a 10-15 minute walk to the JR station. If you're using Aomori as your base to explore nearby cities daily, you might find yourself a little tired after a long day, as you'll still have a bit of a walk back to the hotel. However, the surroundings are very quiet, so if you don't mind the walk, I highly recommend this place.
The breakfast is delicious, especially the scallop sashimi (I'm not sure if it's an Aomori specialty), which was so good I keep thinking about it... super fresh and sweet! The free ramen at night is also yummy and comforting after a hot bowl, even if it's a tad salty (but hey, it's free, so who's complaining!). On the onsen floor, they offer free lactic acid drinks or popsicles at different times, which are a nice treat.
One minor drawback: the washing machines and dryers are coin-operated. If you don't have enough coins, you'll end up buying drinks from the vending machine just to get change. However, this isn't really a fault of this particular hotel; most coin-operated laundry machines in Japanese hotels probably work this way."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right behind the Aomori Prefectural Products Center. It's about a 10-minute walk from Aomori Station, and the beach, Nebuta Museum, A-Factory, and Hirota Apple Shrine are all nearby. I didn't try the breakfast. The room itself is pretty well-maintained, though the bathroom felt a bit dated. They provide a good selection of amenities."

"The hotel is a lettle far from Aomori station.
But, when you check in until 8.30pm, you can have their orignal curry for free. You can also have a snack bread and cafe for free.
Moreover, there are two convince store, one is same building and other's diagonally opposite the building.
Unfortunetly, restaurants are not many near by. So, when you use here on foot you may feel a little unconvinent."

JJeffThis hot spring hotel is located on the top of a mountain. And it takes around an hour of driving up the hill in order to get to the hotel, but the view is completely worth it, the stars at night was so beautiful. The hot spring outdoor was comfy as well. However, the hotel didn’t have elevator, so maybe it’s best that you pack a smaller luggage. The dinner was verrrryyyyyy good and fresh, and the Aomori Apple beer that they had was sooooo goood. The buffet style breakfast offer different kinds of food too from English to Japanese. One thing that we are not a fan of was the blue indoor wear that they offer, as it didn’t look good and look like a massage therapist. Haha

JJ. SimonLess than 5 mins walk to and from JR Shin-Aomori Station (East exit) which also houses the Aomori Tourist Information Centre.
I chose to stay near this JR Shin-Aomori station instead of JR Aomori station as the shinkansen doesn’t go to JR Aomori station. I need to take the shinkansen early in the morning on the following day to go to Akita and then transfer to the Akita shinkansen to head to my next accommodation in Tazawako.
From JR Shin-Aomori station, it’s convenient to take limited express trains direct to Hirosaki station to visit Hirosaki Castle and Park. It’s also a short journey to JR Aomori station which is where the city centre of Aomori is located.
Other than the F&B shops within Shin-Aomori station which close very early around 8pm if I recall correctly, there aren’t any F&B shops around the hotel.
Both Family Mart and Lawsons convenience stores are located a few mins walk from the South exit of the train station which is located on the other end of the station.

NNkiacmkiyThe Hakkoda Hotel is a good hotel that I will not forget in my life. It was a super heavy snowstorm that day, and my wife and I could only do hotel activities. It was comfortable in the strong wind but there was no outdoors. The restaurant was delicious with Japanese and Western food After that, I fell asleep 😴 Special mention that there is no other food in the hotel 🤣 Remember that there are no cup noodles! ! So if you can’t get out of the hotel, there will be no other food 🥱 But the service quality is very high, the hotel is clean and beautiful, and it’s a good place to go

GGuest UserFor less than 1400, supper comes out for supper, breakfast comes out. After breakfast, each person drinks a cup of coffee or tea at the bar. The hot spring is free to soak. It is only 20 minutes away from Aomori by tram. I think it is worth taking a half day alone as a relaxing trip. After all, Aomori is very small. I live in the city for a day to see the House of the Sandman and my favorite punch card. Hoshino, why not try it! It's not easy to find a hot spring street that is not in the old forest in the mountains these days (in fact, the hotels in Asamushi are a bit scattered). Talk about the shortcomings, the hotel welcomes you free of charge, but you need to make an appointment or call after you arrive at Asamushi Station. You do n’t need to worry about Japanese if you are in Japan. Even more trouble. However, you can try your luck. Saturday's pick-ups may be intensive, and we just happened to get in the car. If you go by yourself, it ’s not as easy to find as the other ones. Yu Zhi Tang is next to him, and it ’s not easy to find. On the contrary, those who can see the sea are very eye-catching and easy to find. The room is a bit small, to be honest, but eating well can make up for some regrets.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located just opposite Aomori station and is on a small shopping street with food and a Daiso. The hotel lift lobby is also connected to a Lawson downstairs! It is a short walk away from A Factory and the bay. The room was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay. The receptionist could also communicate well in English and were very helpful and friendly. Since I reached the hotel before check-in time, the receptionist offered to help to put my luggage in my room when it is ready, while I went out sight-seeing. It was a nice gesture that I had not experienced at other hotels before, thank you!

The heavy rain that was falling when I checked in stopped the next morning, and I was able to gaze at the autumn-like sky and sea in front of my room for a while.
It had been a while since I'd stayed in a Japanese-style room, and I was able to enjoy local ingredients for both dinner and breakfast, making for a truly enjoyable holiday in Aomori.
It was also great that I was within walking distance of the prefectural aquarium.
There was a live Tsugaru shamisen performance in the evening, which really immersed me in the romantic atmosphere of travel and exceeded my expectations.
This is an inn that I would recommend to others.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Asamushi Onsen (about 20mins drive from Aomori downtown) as part of our 2025 Spring trip to Aomori area, and booked Tstsumikan Onsen hotel to stay for the night. The hotel location is great. I think all guest rooms come with open ocean view. No private hot spring tub in the guest room but the large gender-specific hot spring pools are open privately to the overnight stay guests from 8PM to the next morning. The stay comes with 2 meals. The food is good and the dinner was served directly in the guest room. The next morning Japanese breakfast was served in the great tatami dinning room, and the breakfast package even comes with free coffee in the gift shop café after the meal. The staff are warm, and the service is good. My recommendation to this hotel come with no hesitation.

GGuest UserJapanese hot spring hotel, simple, good environment. I was the only foreigner that day. It's just a few steps from Asamushi Station, but there are not many shops around and they have business hours. I arrived late that day and had no food, so I had to ask the front desk aunt to make an appointment for the hot spring. There are three, I randomly chose an empty one, the hygiene is OK, maybe there are not many people in the off-season, but if you have a cleanliness obsession, you can ignore the bath. I went to Aomori and came back late after dinner. The front desk changed to an uncle, who helped me connect to the wifi, and was quite kind. There was no hot water when I washed my face at 12 pm, and the toilet was also cold. The next morning, the water was still cold, but the toilet water was hot. When I left, the front desk changed to an old lady, who kept bowing to see me out. I wanted to smoke a cigarette in the yard before leaving, but I felt embarrassed. I waited for a while before going back to smoke one in the yard before leaving. If time is not urgent, I will stay next time and make an appointment for Japanese set meals in advance, both at noon and in the evening, (it must be early) It should be the kind that the surrounding merchants receive orders and deliver to the hotel, which is cheap and affordable.
