Hotels with Parking in Tanabe

Since mu friend and I did a hiking trip, we walked to this accommodation. I think it would be better to drive or taking bus to there instead of walking. I really appreciate the outdoor onsen. The hotel is very close to the bus stop that taking us to our next hiking point, just a few minutes walk. There are some attractions nearby, like the big figure hanging on the bridge. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit them. If you’re staying here, you should arrive earlier and take a look at the surroundings. The front desk staff can speak Mandarin. So if you are a Chinese, you will find it easier to communicate. The hotel is very clean, because you need to change shoes everywhere. 

Amazing service from the moment we arrived to the date of our departure. Staff is very attentive. Food is amazing and presented well. Location is serene and a great change from the big cities. Rooms are perfect and just the type of Japanese village rooms and decor we were hoping for.

I was about to give bad reviews due to some poor check-in experience, but everything after check in is so good that compensates this journey. First, the check-in process that brings me with bad experience: it is self-served and there is no any staff. By rights you should receive an instruction email with check-in PIN in advance, which I heard from other guests. However, I didn’t receive anything but Trip’s confirmation letter and I was unable to check in. And my sim card in Japan is just an internet card unable to make phone calls, which means I have no way to contact the hotel directly. My partner and I were desperately locked out of the hotel in the evening, after 7h hiking, with no other available hotel in the mountain. After waiting for over 1 hour, other guests helped us to enter the admin room where there is an ipad to call the hotel (why not make it available to guests without checking in?), and with the help of Trip’s agency, we finally checked in successfully. Then here is the staying experience: so good that makes me almost forgive the poor check-in experience. Each room is a spacious individual house and ours has a garden for BBQ. The food is also self-served, with the cooking stuffs and ingredients in the fridge. It was unexpected that you need to cook yourself (I don’t think it was listed on room info when I booked it), but it’s not bad that Wagyu, chicken, and vegetables are served. The rooms are big and cozy, and you can do the laundry after hiking. Everything is good about the hotel itself, just be aware of the self-checkin process and make sure you get the instructions before that.

Very old-fashioned hotel, the door is still opened by a key. The hot spring is great, you can enjoy the outdoor hot spring. Dinner and breakfast are super nice, the service is very comfortable. It drizzled in the morning, sitting by the window to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains. The bus was very crowded in the morning when we left this stop, and the hotel brother quickly drove us to the next stop. There were backpackers who were climbing the mountain, and we squeezed the most crowded bus in the past 20 years to go down the mountain to Hayatama Taisha.

Convenient location near the railway station, but the trains do not disturb you - you can't hear them in the hotel. New, comfortable, spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast, there is a self-service laundry (washing machine and dryer). There are many cafes and shops nearby, the sea is a 10-minute walk away. Typical Japanese hot spring hotel. The bathing area is outside the hotel, and many Japanese people drive over. The open-air bath in the bath is very large, with 5 pools for men's baths and 4 for women's baths. The hotel has 4 family baths, which are free for hotel residents. Hotel guests have two keys, one is the door to the house, and the other is to open the family door. The hotel has a free shuttle bus from Shirahama Station. There is also a free shuttle bus to Kumano Hongu Taisha. The one-park-two-food set meal is quite satisfactory. Because the hotel is located in the mountains, there is nothing around it, so it can only bubble soup at night.

Before arriving at the hotel, I found that the transportation in the Kumano Hongu area was very inconvenient. I sent an email to the hotel, and they were able to reply within half a day. They also gave transportation suggestions and told us that they could drive to Ukegawa Station to pick us up, which saved us at least 45 minutes. distance. When we arrived at the hotel, the English introduction was very comprehensive, and they could send a car to take us to the bus station the next day, because the nearest bus station was not suitable for our travel time. The hotel provides a detailed bus timetable and a map for hiking from Prince Faxinmen to the palace. The meals and hot springs are typical Japanese style, and I am very satisfied. If the child's stuffed toys are left at the hotel after leaving, the hotel will contact us and they will send them to the next hotel. Really good service, highly recommended. The hot spring has two private baths, the public bathroom is also large, and there is also an outdoor bath.

The hotel is a little off the beaten track, but fortunately it is close to the beach. The food in the included meal is good, but you can't take out drinks, not even sugar-free cola. The most impressive thing is the Japanese breakfast buffet, which is rich in variety and delicious. I ate a lot. The hotel facilities are relatively old, but they are well maintained, function normally, and are clean and tidy.

Although the location is relatively remote, the boss service is good, the spring quality is super good, it is a hot spring hotel that can be visited again.
