"The room was very clean and the front desk staff were really friendly. I asked for a room facing away from the railway tracks and they happily switched it for me. I booked this hotel for my Kumano Kodo trek. It's small but has everything you need: a bathtub, shower, desk, and carpet. I forgot to take photos, but the room was probably around 8-9 square meters. It's quite small, but the soundproofing was decent. I booked breakfast included, which was pretty simple. I arrived early because I had a train to catch, so I just grabbed a quick bite and headed out. It's located in the countryside, so there aren't many places to explore, and a lot of shops close early. I ended up getting dinner from a convenience store, which was conveniently located right next to the station. P.S. The electric kettle was surprisingly made of plastic!"

"Very cool. Unrivaled ocean view room. The carpet is a bit wet but just pass on slippers. Does not affect the experience. Super cost-effective at just over 300. Breakfast is a bento box. You need to pay extra for the buffet. There is only one restaurant five minutes away. There is a Lawson convenience store 15 minutes away. A taxi from Tanabe or Shirahama costs about 2,000 yen"

"I booked a budget room at this hotel for a one-night stop in Kii-Tanabe before setting off on my Kumano Kodo hike. The location is super convenient, with the train station, bus stop for the next day, convenience stores, the tourist center, and many restaurants all just a few dozen meters away. The hotel is older, and the facilities are basic but adequate. My room wasn't very large, but it was very clean."

Check-in and check-out are convenient, and the small lack of internal organs is complete.
The sound insulation is really poor, and the boy next door has been squeaking in the middle of the night.
But it feels like they didn't speak out deliberately either.

"The shuttle bus from Ikidanabe JR Station was at around 2pm. If you missed it, you can only take a taxi there, which costs about 1700JP.
The beach behind the hotel is very beautiful, and you can see the sunset.
I booked a one-night stay with two meals. The dinner was pretty good, and the quality was higher than that of several hotels behind the Kumano Kodo!
There was also dandan noodles for supper in the evening. Personally, I feel that except for the inconvenient transportation, I am satisfied with the hotel in other aspects!
The shuttle bus was delivered to Ikidanabe Station at 10am in the morning. We felt it was a bit late, so we asked the front desk to call a taxi to the station.
Other areas are good!"

"I was about to give bad reviews due to some poor check-in experience, but everything after check in is so good that compensates this journey.
First, the check-in process that brings me with bad experience: it is self-served and there is no any staff. By rights you should receive an instruction email with check-in PIN in advance, which I heard from other guests. However, I didn’t receive anything but Trip’s confirmation letter and I was unable to check in. And my sim card in Japan is just an internet card unable to make phone calls, which means I have no way to contact the hotel directly. My partner and I were desperately locked out of the hotel in the evening, after 7h hiking, with no other available hotel in the mountain. After waiting for over 1 hour, other guests helped us to enter the admin room where there is an ipad to call the hotel (why not make it available to guests without checking in?), and with the help of Trip’s agency, we finally checked in successfully.
Then here is the staying experience: so good that makes me almost forgive the poor check-in experience. Each room is a spacious individual house and ours has a garden for BBQ. The food is also self-served, with the cooking stuffs and ingredients in the fridge. It was unexpected that you need to cook yourself (I don’t think it was listed on room info when I booked it), but it’s not bad that Wagyu, chicken, and vegetables are served. The rooms are big and cozy, and you can do the laundry after hiking.
Everything is good about the hotel itself, just be aware of the self-checkin process and make sure you get the instructions before that."

"I loved my stay, and was surprised by this property only being rated with a 7 because for such a low price in that area is amazing. According to what I've read, there's some things that have changed in comparison to previous years such as automated check-in/check-out (be aware that if you have any issue during check-in immediately the hotel stuff will call you to the phone on the desk behind you... it took me a while to realize that the call was for me :D ), there's an onsen now at the property at the 3rd floor, and there's no food service anymore.
Laundry is free (both waschmachine and dryer).
I was positively surprised!"

"Soaking in the hot springs here is absolutely top-notch! The outdoor pools are right by the river, and the water is wonderfully hot. With the cool air outside, it really creates that perfect outdoor hot spring atmosphere. Watching egrets forage in the river and seeing steam rise from the water, the ambiance is just incredible!
The rooms are a bit dated but still clean, and the breakfast and dinner buffets are quite decent. There are no convenience stores nearby, so for lunch if you're heading into the mountains the next day, you can order from the hotel or the restaurant next door. Though, you could also just make a few sandwiches yourself in the morning to take with you.😅"

MMaoxiaoxiongmiaomiao這個房間是因為之前預訂的旅店在我出發的前一天沒有確認訂單後我唯一的選擇，也成為了我這次熊野古道中邊路全踏破的完美開局。出了車站就碰見來接我的太田先生（60歲），簡單交流後他給我一本要到熊野古道館才能買到的小冊子，並且上面已經把古道外圍最遠的一個章蓋了，今天新手村的任務就是NPC帶我把其他兩個章蓋好，並讓我先嚐試2小時的山道徒步為明天的出發熱身。
太田先生全程熱情解説並沒有收取我額外任何的費用，距離他家步行3分鐘有羅森的便利店，我買了很多補給和晚餐，誰知道我住的房間裏早已被塞滿各種免費暢飲的飲料。房間安排在二樓，有廁所，但洗澡洗衣服要去樓下。房間面積超大，比我在京都的家還要大一點，晚上陽台可以看到完美山谷日落噢！廁所有點年代感但非常的乾淨，廁紙也是超厚香香的！浴室和洗面池配的各種洗漱用品齊全到可以不用打開洗刷包了！
忙了一下午的太田先生晚餐衹是簡單的泡麪和肉丸，這讓我有點過意不去。晚餐後我們聊了很久，太田先生居然是半個中國通，如果大家有機會入住請多和他交流吧。
雖然這裏看起來離出發點有點距離，但有羅森便利店的加持和太田先生的熱情款待，這裏絕對是熊野古道出發的幸運地！我非常推薦！

There is no private bathroom, but since there are only a few rooms and not many guests, the shared bathroom is enough. The open-air Kawayu hot spring at the entrance is very popular, you must go! The miraculous craftsmanship of nature! The only drawback is that I lost my headphones at the hotel. I left them on the bed the night before and forgot to collect them in the morning. As soon as I got on the bus, I contacted Ctrip and gave me the room number and location. The location search also showed that the headphones were here. B&B, but after looking for it for a long time, the B&B owner said there was no one... I thought it was a bit weird. Because the schedule was too busy, I didn't have time to go back and look for it myself, but I still felt a little uncomfortable. I would like to express special praise to Ctrip’s customer service, who responded very quickly, had a good attitude, and tried their best to help solve the problem. When you are away from home, you will feel more secure if there is a problem with your Ctrip order. Already a fan, I will use Ctrip next time!

GGuest UserBefore arriving at the hotel, I found that the transportation in the Kumano Hongu area was very inconvenient. I sent an email to the hotel, and they were able to reply within half a day. They also gave transportation suggestions and told us that they could drive to Ukegawa Station to pick us up, which saved us at least 45 minutes. distance. When we arrived at the hotel, the English introduction was very comprehensive, and they could send a car to take us to the bus station the next day, because the nearest bus station was not suitable for our travel time. The hotel provides a detailed bus timetable and a map for hiking from Prince Faxinmen to the palace. The meals and hot springs are typical Japanese style, and I am very satisfied. If the child's stuffed toys are left at the hotel after leaving, the hotel will contact us and they will send them to the next hotel. Really good service, highly recommended. The hot spring has two private baths, the public bathroom is also large, and there is also an outdoor bath.

JjackiethKumano Honno is the hometown of hot springs. It includes Tangzhifeng Hot Spring, Chuantang Hot Spring, and Duyu Hot Spring. Compared with the famous Chuantang Hot Spring, the Duyu Hot Spring Hotel we booked is more niche and quieter in a small mountain. The hotel has three floors, each floor is 10 and the foreign room. We arrived at the hotel at 1 pm. There was no regular told to check in after 3:00. We were very enthusiastic to help us check in and introduce the soup rules. The room is large, twin bed + tatami, facing the river bank, the window is cherry blossoms.
There are two hotels and four soup pools, you can soak, there is the largest open-air wind in Western Japan and the Japanese family special loan cut open-air wind.
The dinner was very delicate and the breakfast was very delicate.

GGuest UserThe room was very clean. The landlady was kind and could communicate in Chinese using a translation software. I ordered her breakfast for 800 yen and it was very comfortable. I didn’t know what to choose from the meal. I just ate what she made and I was very satisfied. This B&B can pick you up from the station. I don’t speak Japanese, so I can only walk there. When I left, she drove me to the station. I liked it very much! The bus runs twice a day, and it’s difficult to take a taxi. The pick-up and drop-off is very pleasant.
