"The guest house name from the website ( mkunazini ) is not known by the locals as they use a different name called Flamingo guest house, their telephone number was never reachable. However the receptionist was very nice and friendly she even tied to explain about the telephone issue. The room was nearly arranged and clean."

The food was great, a wide variety for breakfast including local dishes, Indian and other dishes which we tasted and they were great. The hotel is located in Stone Town, a neighborhood is full of history, markets with spices that are walk-able distances away. It has taxis in the front door to take you anywhere at affordable fee. The shores to Slave Island are just walk-able distance away. The ferry sounds can wake you up earlier, other than that everything was great."

"Very nice hotel. Conveniently located to all Stone Town attractions. If there are any issues the front desk manager will do her best to rectify the situation. My only issue unfixable was the food or maybe It was the water they refill for the rooms. I recommend be on side of caution and drink only bottled water. Don't eat anything uncooked (salads juices made with ice etc.) And you won't spend most of your time in bathrooms."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, old style hostel but it was clean and some little hearts on the bed , small things to feel welcomed .
The breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruits , juice , eggs salad ,coffee , tea . We really enjoyed our stay ."

"I didn't realize it was a Chinese hotel when I booked. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the owner, who was Chinese, very welcoming and attentive. I booked a double room, but it came with a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a separate wet and dry bathroom. The hotel also has its own restaurant, offering delicious local and Chinese cuisine for all three meals. The hostess was especially helpful in arranging our itinerary, arranging the driver, and negotiating a price. It was a very satisfying trip."

"Utterly enchanting- from our 5am arrival until our departure 3 days later we were looked after so incredibly well. The hotel organised our airport pickup and opened up with a gentle tap (you may need help to find it as it’s in the narrow streets of old Stonetown). The front of house was superb and Peter took care of us. The hotel has so much atmosphere, full of antiques and lush vegetation. Breakfast is in the roof balcony. Excursions can be organised. I had read a few unpleasant reviews but I can’t think why, cleanliness was first class and the hospitality was outstanding. I hope you are lucky enough to find a room - we stayed 3 nights it was so good."

"The bed sheets are too bad, they should be acrylic or chemical fiber, they are pilling. The hotel staff is very nice, the front desk efficiency needs to be improved, the hotel location is good, there are many hotels nearby, if you are not in a hurry, you can go to the nearby to find one. It is not worth the price, it can't be compared with the hotels in the north."

YYon-iiiRoom, Balcony, View from the room and Restaurant is really nice. But only one thing they need to improve in their reception customer service.
Room I signed when I check in and Room I really received was different. They changed the room without notice. I asked why they said it's same room inside. But it was totally different. Changed room has no privacy at all. We have to close the window during the stay.
And I asked for late check out when I check in. They told me to check last day in the morning. In last day, I asked again for 2hrs late check out. They refused my request even didn't check the system. Just say NO. I am very disappointed with their attitude. And when I checked the site there were plenty room left.
As everyone knows Zanzibar is the holiday place. Most of 5 star hotels in holiday place, they run check out time very flexible due to flight time. No deserve to have 5 stars in customer service.

There is also the only Chinese restaurant on Sang Island 300 meters away, which is very cost-effective. Recommended. However, the dolphin watching and prison island recommended by the hotel are relatively expensive, so if possible, look outside.

Also: it seems they bought another building. So they accommodated us in like 200 meters from main facility. Surely it’s kind of inconvenient but still ok.

GGuest UserLocation is good originally as it is near to the ferry, but its noisy at night. I can hear people arguing at the midnight.
The room is very clean but no bottles water, toothpaste and toothbrush.
The staff are very nice.
