Kingtown Hotel Plaza Shanghai

River really helpful and assist my family in this trip, we really happy with the room, breakfast, she also help me store some luggages while i went to hangzhou, i will comeback here again :)

Quite dated. Location is good and a 29 min walk to Nanjing street. Our bathroom had mouldy and broken flooring as the shower door didn’t close properly. We had to ask to change rooms initially as they gave us a room without a city view despite us booking one. It was changed quickly without a fuss. The city view room only just about had a view of you look sideways out the window- photos are of the left and right views as the straight ahead view is of a building. Breakfast looked good but we didn’t try it (around 60rmb)

For all the review readers, here is my honest review about this hotel: 1. The room was nice and spacious. The bed was comfy. I liked that they have 2 types of pillow, a slightly flat one and higher one. Coz i’m the type who prefer flat. I was able to sleep well there. 2. There’s a lot of variety of foods in their breakfast buffet. You can also request some other foods from their choices there. The yogurt was so yummy! I wish I knew it since day 1. I tried it on our last day :( 3. The hotel is near from a station. Not super near, but walkable. Also walkable/cycle distance from Nanjing Road. There’s a lot of bicycle near the hotel so easier to cycle. 4. There’s no convenience store or places to eat near the hotel. We also have difficulties to find places to eat esp at night. That’s one thing I didn’t like about. It was a bit inconvenient. 5. Their cleaner didn’t make the bed nicely. Also, they didn’t change the linens and pillow cover everyday. We stayed there for 3 nights btw. Hope they will improve this. 6. They also didn’t wash the cups. Coz i used a cup for drinking coffee and my husband noticed that it wasn’t washed. 7. They didn’t clean the toilet/bath room. They only take out the trash and changed the towels. Hope they will improve this. 8. There’s power sockets and bedside table on both sides if the bed which is nice! 9. The room design is nice and a nice window with a view. 10. The receptionists and service crews there were very nice! Very helpful. Some cannot speak english and some can. They use a translation device to communicate. 11. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look the same as in their profile photo. Maybe that’s an old one when there’s still no buildings around. Hope they will change it coz we had hard time finding it at first. It was a good stay. It’s a nice hotel. Hoping for better improvement. Will I stay again in the future? Maybe yes coz we’re already used to the place. But I might try other places that is nearer to convenience store or places to eat.
