Ascott Huaihai Road Shanghai, Xintiandi

Convenient location to business buildings and tourist attractions. Just 2km or so to Nanjing Pedestrian Road. But, nothing much is opened before 10am near hotel. So, if you're looking for breakfast before 10am, you might need to travel a little further. There's a convenience store just underneath the hotel. However, for my room on 9th floor, every now and then, there's sewage stench coming from the vent, possibly from the toilet of the unit above? It lasted several minutes. That's the main issue with the unit. Otherwise, I had comfortable sleep and I appreciate the kitchen and washing machine in the room.

Perfect location - didn’t realise the hotel was located in the midst of a shopping haven - almost like Orchard Road in Singapore. Stay was superbly comfortable and feels like home.

The strongest thing here is the location, pretty close to restaurants and the Xintiandi area. However, the hotel seems decadent. During my stay, the elevators became damaged. The furniture and the room seem outdated, the cleaning was also poor. At least, to have a shower, it is necessary to get in on a bathtub, there is no place to hold, and it was unsafe.

My second time here. Lovely crew,super helpful and responsive. Love that they have WeChat chat app. I like the home style comfort and 24hr security. Highly recommend especially if you are traveling with family. They helped me with my deliveries too.

Quite old and therefore it is not on par with other Ascott. I would not recommend it until they refurbish hotel rooms. Location is excellent.
