Aivy the Traveler

For all readers of reviews, this is my honest review.
1. They didn’t change the linens and pillow covers everyday. They only changed the towels. I don’t know if it’s in the description when booking, I haven’t checked, so don’t expect they will change. We stayed there for 6 days btw.
2. They also didn’t make the bed nicely. Every time we come back to hotel after sightseeing around, you can see the pillow not nicely arranged. It was like, put the pillow, you lay down, then arranged back the comforter. What I mean is that it looks like someone used the pillow.
3. It’s true that there’s a huge construction in front of the hotel. When checking in, I tried to request a room not facing the construction but all their king sized bed rooms are facing the construction, so no choice. Prefer book the higher rooms which is the Deluxe Selected Double Room (9th Floor) coz less noisy than the Cozy Queen Room (3rd Floor). We have tried both rooms btw.
We cannot blame the hotel for the noise of the construction, for sure there’s nothing they can do about that… except if they put something on the windows to lessen the noise.
Based on my experience, the construction starts early in the morning around 6 or 7 i guess, then stopped around 8 or 9pm.
Surprisingly, I was able to sleep well even it’s noisy given that i’m a type of person that can easily wake up with noise.
4. The receptionists cannot speak english but they will use translator app. One girl was very kind, approachable and patient with us. One girl was unapproachable and always have serious face. The guys hmmmm, also not so approachable. But they are very quick to respond to our requests. Like the remote has no battery and the toilet was clogged.
5. I don’t recommend to add breakfast. Better not. Not only very few, it was not good at all. Better buy from convenience store. The breakfast time is 7-9am only. There’s 2 breakfasts that we haven’t taken coz there’s a time that we woke up late and the last day need to leave at 7am to catch flight.
6. The hotel is near from Shanghai Railway Station that makes it convenient. However, the exits near the Hotel has no escalator/elevator. So if you have big luggages like us, even if you go by taxi or walk from station to the hotel, you have to carry your luggage.
7. The Hotel is just beside a police station, so it’s very safe. We had a hard time looking for the hotel at first because there’s no photo of the front of the hotel in their profile. Hope they will add.
8. What I like about the room is they have a big comfy bed (except for the flat 2 pcs only pillows). And the room was so spacious, both the deluxe and queen, that we can lay down and open 2 large size luggages on the floor and still have room to walk through.
9. They didn’t clean the toilet/bath room. Although we always leave the room clean before we go out, we would appreciate that not only taking the trash out, should still clean it. I’m not even sure if they mopped the room’s floor. They should train their cleaners well.
10. They have free use of washing machine (including the detergent and fabcon) and drier which is a plus especially to those who stays long like us. But hopefully they put english instructions on how to use the drier.
Although my review doesn’t sound positive, it’s still a decent hotel.
