Since i read the review so I booked this hotel. The hotel is a little bit old and not really clean. However Hotel staff are very good to us and help us a lot.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location, which is very convenient for people using the subway. It is near East Nanjing Rd exit 1&4. A little more walk from People's Square station which is very convenient for those who have big luggages as it has ramps and escalator all the way up and down.
If you are looking for a service, stay away from this hotel as it is very poor. I asked for more water bottle the answer I got was to go down and grab it myself. The check-in was nothing special, but the staff somehow have some attitude (I greeted them nicely with a smiley face and tried to speak their language). After checked in, I found a lighting issue in my room. I had to call them twice to have someone come check.
The room is very very old. Nowhere near shown on the advertised pictures . Not sure if it's only my room or not (room#9021). The cleanliness could be much more improved. When I first got in, I saw a dead bug on the floor which is very obvious. I left it there just to see if the next day the staff will see or not, but it was still there. The shower glass was insecure as it is not stable (can't upload the video I took).
On the last night, don't know what happened but suddenly I could smell the cigarettes from the AC late at night. Very strong smell. I did not bother to call the reception because they do not speak English and with the service that I was experiencing, I don't think they will be any helpful. I endured that cigarette smell for a couple hours before it was better.
I will never come back to this hotel again.

The location is good, easy to reach and at the heart of East Nanjing Street.
The room is good overall, but the cleanliness could be improved. The floor of my room was very dusty.

The hotel had a nice Shanghai vibe and we loved the location, but unfortunately, the lights in our room were broken. We reported it to the receptionist during check-in, but no action was taken throughout our stay—even up to the day we checked out.

Location very strategic, the room is a bit old but comfortable and the small washing machine is workable. Nearby there are many restaurants and shopping shops.
