👍 The location is very convenient for travelers who mainly travel by the metro. Behind the hotel is the beautiful river view. The room is old and smaller than the picture but still acceptable because the price is ok and being clean. The landlord is nice, doesn’t understand English, but he tries to with patience and a service mind.
👎 I’m just a girl who travels alone. I can say that it was a nightmare for me.
Someone who sits at the front desk in the nighttime, that young boy doesn’t understand English and yells at me, though I tried to give my phone with a translator to him and asked him to speak English or just type here because I don’t understand what he said.
The English phrase he said to me was “Why don’t you speak CHINESE?” It shocked me a lot. He has no service mind at all.
The problem just started with I asked him for a bottle of water at nighttime (just noted that no water in the room, there was no information provided and I just wanted some water to take a painkiller)
He said no free water. I said can I buy some? But he still said no, and told me to go to the convenience store nearby in the 3AM and rainy situation. Then I talked calmly to him to borrow an umbrella at least, but he shouted 没有 (Don’t have—In Chinese) and yelled a lot in Chinese until his voice woke the landlord up, then the landlord gave me an umbrella at the end.

The location of this hotel was superb, only 2 mins walk from the metro station so it was very easy to move around. It was also very near the Bund and Nanjing road and there were buses in front of the hotel. We had a river view room although the window was in the bathroom but it was much quieter than those rooms facing the street. The staff was very helpful.

If you are looking for a good value hotel with a good location, this is the place.
1 minute walk from subway station. 1 minute from mart. 1 minute from convenience store. 1 minute from police station.
10 minutes from People's Park. The location is so so good.
You can ride a bike to the Bund.
They clean it every day. The rooms are also quiet.
The bathroom has good hot water and water pressure.
But the smell of cigarettes is too strong.
And the bed was so hard that it was uncomfortable. It was as hard as the floor.
The floor was covered in dust and hair.
Highly recommended for travelers who consider location and cost-effectiveness!

I booked the hotel without carefully looking at the room photos. I cancelled too late and failed to cancel. I only took advantage of the convenient location and cheap price. It is not far from the Bund and the subway entrance. I was really surprised when I arrived at the hotel. I have never seen a room with such a stairwell layout. There was a musty smell when I entered the hotel. I saw how expensive every inch of land is in Shanghai.
