Guest UserThe room was clean, spacious, and affordable. The owner provided excellent service and even helped us book discounted tickets. It's very close to the scenic area, just a 10-15 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a supermarket, bank, and pharmacy, making it extremely convenient.

Anonymous UserThis stay exceeded all expectations! The guesthouse is a short walk from the East Gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, which made getting to and from the scenic area incredibly convenient. Downstairs, there's a great variety of breakfast spots, so all our meals were easily taken care of. The room was spotless, and all the toiletries and daily essentials were well-stocked, making for a very comfortable stay.
The hostess was exceptionally kind and lovely. As soon as we checked in, she patiently helped us plan our daily itineraries and gave us detailed tips on how to avoid common tourist traps and overspending in the park. My glasses broke during our trip, which was a huge inconvenience, but without a second thought, the hostess rode me on her scooter to a glasses shop for repairs. I was deeply touched. Her warm and thoughtful service truly enhanced our trip. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

Cool property! It’s an old building, so insulation is not existing, so keeping the climate nice it’s a bit of a balance. But the stay is absolutely unique and the location could not be better. Yes, you don’t have a direct view on the waterfall, but you don’t need that when you are in this town. You get it from all the restaurants and from the walking around. The view from this hotel is also absolutely fantastic, to the bridge and to the village. The rooms are spacious and the staff is very nice. We will come back.

Anonymous UserThe B&B's location is absolutely unbeatable, offering the best views. We came to Furong Ancient Town mainly for the scenery, so choosing this place was definitely the right call. Due to its mountainous terrain, the overall cleanliness of Furong Ancient Town is a bit concerning, and the difficulty of getting up and down the hills probably makes maintaining hygiene quite challenging. The ladies at the reception desk of the B&B had a generally lukewarm attitude; we didn't see a single smile from them. The gentlemen, however, were all very nice. The restaurant staff provided great service, and the food tasted good too.

Humberto R.Floral Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere that feels like a perfect mix between a hotel and being at home. Many of the reviews mention the owners, and after staying here ourselves, we completely understand why. Mrs. Huang and her husband are truly wonderful people who made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived.
The room options were excellent, and our room was always clean, tidy, cozy, and very comfortable throughout our stay. Towels were changed daily, trash was taken out regularly, and the level of care and attention to detail was exceptional.
We happened to arrive during several rainy days and unfortunately both caught colds while travelling. Mrs. Huang was exceptionally kind and supportive — preparing delicious and nutritious breakfasts for us each morning, helping us book attraction tickets at affordable prices, and giving us helpful advice and recommendations every single day. One particularly rainy day, while we were out sightseeing, she even turned the heating on in our room before we returned so we could immediately warm up and enjoy a hot shower after being out in the cold and rain. It was such a thoughtful gesture and truly appreciated.
What touched us most was the genuine care we received throughout our stay. On our final day, despite us leaving very early in the morning, Mrs. Huang woke up to prepare breakfast for us at 5:30am before our departure.
We were also in the area preparing for a friend’s wedding, and Mrs. Huang kindly recommended local barbers, a nail salon, and a lovely local restaurant, which made everything so much easier for us. The neighbourhood itself has such a warm community feel, and the hotel truly feels like a home away from home.
Although Mrs. Huang does not speak English, she has a fantastic translation device which made discussing more complex topics very easy. She made every effort to ensure communication was smooth and effortless, and we never felt uncomfortable or unsupported.
The hotel also has washing facilities available, and during sunny days you can dry your clothes on the rooftop under a covered area, which is incredibly useful for longer stays or after rainy sightseeing days.
Although Floral Hotel is not a large modern hotel chain, that is exactly part of its charm. The wooden and rustic design fits perfectly with the character and atmosphere of the wider Wulingyuan area, creating a peaceful and authentic place to stay. It feels warm, personal, and relaxing rather than commercial or impersonal. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, caring, and restful place with genuine hospitality.
We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and hospitality we experienced here and would happily stay again in the future.

We had a great 2 night stay here, the location is perfect right next to the river and very convenient to all the local walks and sights.
The room looks as good in person as online and was very clean, comfortable and modern.
The family that runs this 民宿 could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. They helped pick us up from the car park and find and plan great walks nearby. The aunty is a great cook and we ate there every meal and tried all the delicious local eats.
Thanks for having us! We really enjoyed staying here and having some fun chats over dinner, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone and will definitely stay here agai in the future.

Judah JibrinStayed June 2026 — 5/5, would book again
I picked Baihe River Valley because it sits right inside the core scenic area of Furong Town, and that turned out to be the best decision of the trip. The inn is only about a 5-minute walk to the Grand Waterfall, opened in 2020 with just 21 rooms, so it feels small and personal rather than a big hotel.
First impression: awesome staff. I was met at the entrance, luggage carried up, and even though my Mandarin is limited we sorted everything on WeChat in two minutes. That matches what other guests keep saying — “really friendly and helpful… view was amazing and rooms clean”, and “staff are so lovely, kind and helpful”. They also arranged a free pickup from the train station and dropped me back the next morning, which took all the stress out of arriving in the ancient town.
The environment is exactly what you hope for in Furong. Chinese-style décor, warm wood, and it’s spotless — 24-hour hot water, strong WiFi everywhere, daily housekeeping. My mountain-view queen room was 25m², quiet, no dust, bed made perfectly each day. Others note the same: “room is clean and bed was comfortable”.
Food was a real highlight. The in-house restaurant runs a la carte from 07:30 to 19:30 with outdoor tables, and breakfast is Chinese-style 07:30–09:30. I tried their Tujia national cuisine in the evening — simple, hearty, locally sourced — and the home-cooked breakfast the next morning was tasty and warming, just as another guest described. Breakfast was “nice” is an understatement when you’re eating it with the waterfall mist in the air.
And the views. One of a kind is not marketing. From my third-floor window I could see the tiled roofs of Furong Ancient Town, and at night the whole gorge lights up. The hotel is positioned “very well, close to the waterfall at 5 minutes walk”, and I was upgraded to a room looking down onto the ancient town — “particularly amazing at night”. Waking up to the roar of the falls, drinking tea on the balcony, watching the lights reflect off the river — that’s the memory I’ll keep.
Practical bits: 24/7 front desk, check-in after 12:00, check-out before 14:00, free shuttle service available, pets allowed, and the staff will help with town entry tickets.
Overall: friendly people who actually care, great local food, an impeccably clean and calm base, and waterfall views you can’t get anywhere else. It’s currently rated 9.5/10 from 757 reviews, and after staying, I get why. If you want to experience Furong Town without the crowds and noise, stay here — and ask for a mountain-view room on floor 3 or 4.

Loved this hotel. I didn’t want to leave. Even stayed an extra night instead of moving to Zhangjiajie for Tianmen mountain. Stay all of your nights here!
The owner is super friendly and you can book all your park tickets through him at a discount. He will also give you step by step instructions in the day. Seamless visit. Locarion is PERFECT! The 2 month of kitten Mimi is absolutely a delight too and very friendly.

This guesthouse boasts absolutely stunning views and a beautiful, serene, and comfortable environment – truly on par with high-end luxury lodges abroad, but without the exorbitant price tag. The restaurant is also fantastic; I ate there for three days straight because the food was so good I didn't want to eat anywhere else. What really sets them apart, though, is their service. It's not the rigid, formal service you find at a five-star hotel; instead, it's incredibly thoughtful and attentive, always putting the guest's needs first. For example, if we ordered too much food, the restaurant would even proactively help us figure out how to save it for our next meal. Every other service detail was just as impressive – any request was met with a helpful response. It was such a comfortable and personalized experience. Getting to the West Gate of the Forest Park from here is also very convenient, as the guesthouse offers pick-up and drop-off services. They also provide incredibly detailed and professional advice based on your itinerary, making it completely stress-free for first-time visitors. I will definitely be back!
