Service: - Overall is good, reception manager Pei Pei demonstrated good service and fast response, but one reception guy was disappointing - Gobin who was the night time reception, was lowering the whole level of the hotel, ashamed the whole hotel (Incident: we saw an advertisement in the elevator showing 160 AED for 6 bottled Heineken beer in the afternoon, that night we ordered by dialing 0 in the room service, then when paying the bill, it was 252 AED, we didn't ask further for the price because we were afriad we missed some conditions in the advertisement. The other night, we planned to order again, so we see again the advertisement in the elevator, it just stated ”Dial 0 or scan QR code to place order”, then we headed to the reception and asked if there is any hidden conditions. Gobin just questioned me if my picture is taken on the day and told me it is a recent promotion, so it's wasn't started on the day i ordered. That's totally trying to drag the problem to us, i was never thinking to get back what i over paid, and you didnt need to defend and attack me at once. And then he asked if I have any proof that the advertisement was published on the day I order the beer, I said I didn’t take a picture on that day, then I asked him which day this promotion started, he failed to answer. Then he quibbled and said because we didn't tell over the phone that we wanted to get the promotion beer, so we couldn't get 160 AED beer. I was so pissed, but I was too focused on how I can proof the promotion has already started on the day I ordered the beer, then I went back to our room and I didn't pay much attention to his words. After going back my room, my family told me again what Gobin said just now, it was totally humiliating and treated us as a fool. Is that I don't mention the promotion price, then I need to pay extra? It's totally nonsence.  The original price was 240 AED for 6 bottles, we paid 252 AED just because you charged me on a price of single bottle 42 AED each x 6 bottles. Because I was totally pissed off, I went back and argued with him, he knew he couldn't cheat me anymore, then he passed our case to his colleague. His colleague ****** in his service too (but i forgot to memorize his name), same as Gobin, he was trying to point the problem back to us, he said because there was no bottled beer so the staff gave us canned beer that night, so I was charged for a higher price, then I told him to see the two remaining bottles in my room and i took picture on that night as well. At last, they failed to put back the fault to us, and gave me back the money. The whole incident was nonsense, and ruined my mood in the whole night. I had never tried to feel so pissed for a staff in the hotel before. Room: - Spacious, clean, sufficient facilities - Light flashes in washroom, tolerated for two nights but finally too annoyed, so reflected this on a random surve, Pei Pei approached me the next day when we were having breakfast and sent engineer to fix the light (she offered change of room but we turned down, and she offered a complimentary dinner and a fruit platter) Gym: - More than enough for a hotel Swimming Pool: - Small and not many seats Breakfast Buffet: - Large variety of choice and taste good
Staybridge Suites Dubai Financial Centre

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Staybridge Suites in Dubai's Finance Centre, and it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The location is fantastic—metro is just opposite!!!! and just a short distance from attractions like the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. The suite itself was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a fully functional kitchen, which was a nice touch for those looking to prepare their own meals. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after busy days. The hotel offers excellent amenities, including a lovely outdoor pool and a well-equipped fitness center. I particularly appreciated the complimentary breakfast; it had a good variety of options to start the day right. The staff was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. Their willingness to assist with any requests added to the overall positive experience. Overall, my stay at Staybridge Suites was enjoyable and hassle-free. I would highly recommend it for both business travelers and families looking for a comfortable place to stay in Dubai.

Novotel Dubai Al Barsha

Al Barsha
After a disappointing stay earlier this week at another 4-star hotel in Tecom, I decided to try Novotel Al Barsha for the weekend, mainly because Swiss Butter Steakhouse is inside the hotel. My friend Hannah and I checked in with a mix of curiosity and hope for a better experience. The hotel does seem busy, which contradicts what some other guests have said. To their credit, we were given our room right away at check-in. I had booked a Superior Twin Room and specifically requested a higher floor for a better view. I also accepted a smoking room, understanding the compromise, but the overwhelming smell of smoke in the hallway left me wondering: shouldn’t a 4-star hotel manage this better? Upon entrance, to our surprise, we found a joined single bed instead of twins. We called reception, hoping to move rooms, but they offered to just separate the beds. Regret hit when we saw how small the single beds were! Honestly, if you’re tall or on the bigger side, this setup will not be comfortable—especially if you’re staying with friends or family. To add, the bed’s mattress clearly needed flipping, as there was an obvious slope that made it uncomfortable to sleep on. Adding to the unfortunate, despite being on the 25th floor, there was no view to speak of—something we were really looking forward to. It felt like a missed opportunity, especially given the hotel’s location and our specific request for a high floor. The bathroom was another letdown. The tissue holder was almost broken, the materials inside looked cheap, and the toilet bowl was not properly cleaned, with visible brown markings—pretty gross for a 4-star hotel. Thankfully, the bathtub was at least clean, so that was something. On the bright side, the highlight of this hotel is definitely their spa and pool. We were given discount vouchers for Soul and Senses Spa, and my masseuse, Shatria, did a great job. The pool is a decent size and clean, while the sauna and steam room were perfect. The health club overall is the ace of this place. For breakfast, I agree with other reviews—it’s decent. The restaurant was packed in the morning, but the vibe was good. However, they don’t escort guests to tables; you just find a seat yourself, which is fine but felt a bit unpolished. One odd thing I noticed: while housekeeping did try their best to fulfill our requests—like providing coffee capsules and water—there was no creamer for the coffee and tea. Even 3-star hotels provide that, so it was a first for me (maybe it was just the standard). Despite these minimal disappointments, I still try to see the positive side of this hotel and did my best to take decent photos that you may see for reference. Overall, it seems like this hotel mainly caters to group tourists, which makes me wonder if they’re sacrificing quality for quantity. I hope they work on improving their services, including room quality, views, and attention to detail, so they can leave a better impression of Dubai for future guests.

Once they figured out that they have a Diamond VIP Trip member, was scooped up to the Elite VIP Desk where you will be warmly greeted by the Customer Relations Manager Dasha, the check in was pleasant...she gave me the keys for a nice room as expected from Sheraton...Lots of Amenities and a Free Minibar that was not consumed so no review for the drinks and exotic nuts, but they had fancy labels...Its a nice touch anyways...More Hotels should adapt this generous strategy so they secure a place in the future of Luxury Hotels... The experience is absolutely one of the most unique for hotels. The ship and its history are worth the money. However, there are still some areas that need some improvement. 1. Cleanliness: the room and bedding are well kept but I found a couple hairs when I check in. The carpet in the rooms needs to be shampooed many years ago. And there oily face or hand marks on the window. 2. The bottled drinking water tastes weird. It’s either just refilled with tap water or the water filter at the hotel needs to be changed. 3. There is massive construction on the crossover bridge beside the pier, which makes it difficult to travel in and out of the area - you will pay big taxi bills or walk for 15 mins (ask the front desk but don’t follow google maps) to get to the closest subway station. But overall it’s still located within walking distance to Dubai creek or Al Fahidi.

Palm Jumeirah
My husband and I had our first holiday as a family of three with our 7 month old baby at Voco Dubai The Palm Hotel. We chose this hotel as it had a private beach (we didn’t want to spend time travelling to a beach each day), was located away from the chaos of Dubai, offered a king size bed (I cosleep with my baby), and there was an option for including breakfast (again did not want to spend time searching for or travelling to a breakfast location with a baby). Compared to other surrounding hotels, it is a relatively small and new hotel. However, this only enhanced our positive experience as it added a more personal touch. The valets (sorry I didn’t catch their names!) took our car down to the car park while other members of staff took our luggage to our room. Diana at the front desk was the first team member we met inside and made us feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and clean. Thank you to Arun Gawam from Housekeeping! We enjoyed our coffee pods and Biscoff biscuits provided after each thorough clean. Some reviews mentioned noise but we only heard some drilling upstairs during the day and some music outside on Friday and Saturday night. Neither of these bothered us or our baby. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had plenty of choice with some of the options changing on each day so we had some variety. The welcoming, dynamic staff knew our tea and coffee orders from day one and always greeted us with smiles. We were asked daily if we wanted our eggs cooked in a certain way. This was great because our baby is just getting started on solids. Our baby girl loved seeing all the hardworking, smiley members of staff waving at her every morning. I would particularly like to thank Rojean, Rashmi and Aldrin as well as Fasha, Shiela, Juliet, Dioseth, Anu, Marion, Fhaizan, Amin, Chef Prabin, Chef James, Chef Anyu, Ariz, Sun and Puja. The private beach was a highlight of our holiday. We loved the easy and quick access to the beach with bottles of water and beach towels provided upon arrival. The cabanas were great for privacy as I had to breastfeed my baby on the beach. The WiFi was hit and miss on the beach but I guess that helped us relax more. Thank you to Bidan, Chamodi and Roni for taking care of us there! The only downside for me was the lack of power socket to plug the hairdryer in the bathroom or next to the mirror in front of the bathroom or by the mirror in front of the desk. We had to plug the hairdryer in the socket by the bed and therefore had to dry our hair on the bed, which wasn’t a major issue, just an inconvenience and a little loud right next to our baby. Overall, it was a great holiday experience thanks to each and every member of staff!
