The room was quite spacious, but the one we got only had one bathroom, even though other reviews mentioned two. They wouldn't upgrade our room, probably because business was so good. The facilities were quite old. The sink wouldn't drain, and even after reporting it to the housekeeper, no one came to fix it, so I had to pull the stopper out myself to drain the water. The small shower head in the shower stall was too low, making it inconvenient as I had to hold it while showering. The large shower head was a bit clogged and had low water pressure, which made for an uncomfortable shower. The next day, the air conditioner at the main entrance was leaking all over the hallway and living room. Luckily, I noticed it in time. When I reported it, they said no one was available and that repairs would only happen the next day. The service and management are incomparable to a star-rated hotel. The breakfast was terrible and not worth the price, so we skipped it for the next two days. Overall, it was very mediocre and I wasn't very satisfied.

Rooms: We were on 33/F. New and good size. Washer-dryer worked well. You have to ask for plates, bowls and cutlery. It is worth spending a bit extra to get the sea-view room for the view of the bay and the light show in the evening which is great. The corridors are all a bit grim, don't worry the rooms are good. There are just 3 lifts for the whole 35 storey building which is full of apartment hotels. So the wait for the lift can be a long time. Better to be a high floor so the lift is less full when it finally comes. You have access to the Mix C Mall (which is huge) from both 6/F and LG Location: Perfect. Next to May 4th Station. DiDi stop outside. Walking distance to May 4th Square and light show. Lots of shops and supermarket in Mix C. Several convenience stores nearby. Service: okay. They will get you to join them on WeChat and you make requests that way. They sort out requests quite quickly. Language: Mandarin only

This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Qingdao, right up there with The Lalu, Diaoyutai, and St. Regis. But it's more affordable than all of them. Overseas, we generally agree that staying at a St. Regis is just paying a 'stupid tax'. The views here are the best, and the location is as unbeatable as the St. Regis, with two similarly-ranked buildings in the same prime spot (next door). The real highlight, though, is the buffet upstairs. If you haven't tried the buffet here, you're seriously missing out. I'd give it a 9.9 out of 10. The only minor imperfection was that the cleaning staff in the lobby weren't very professional. When they roll up the carpets, they should really put up a warning sign to alert guests to watch their step. I tripped last night. Luckily, I'm quick on my feet; an elderly person probably would have fallen, and then that staff member would be out of a job. I hope they can improve safety in the future. The manager at the hotel lobby was very kind and upgraded my room for free, which I really appreciate.

Very satisfied with this hotel. We arrived at 11am and was allowed early checkin. Stayed in King room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sound proofing was amazing. Right next to the tourist ZhongShan Rd yet it was completely quiet! The lady receptionist was very helpful and kind when we needed help. Location was superb. We could visit the attractions and return to the room to rest back and forth as it was all within walking distance. Stayed only 1 night, as we had already booked another place. Nevertheless it felt like we had stayed like a few days as we were able to do so much within the short stay there.

Ever since deciding in June in Dali to visit Qingdao in September, I booked the Shangri-La Hotel right away! That's because my 'bear baby' (term of endearment for myself) absolutely loves the signature scent at every Shangri-La. Arriving at Shangri-La, I immediately felt right at home. These five days truly felt like being with family. From the Shang Palace to the Café Yum, the Horizon Club Lounge, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Front Desk – every single staff member always had a wonderful smile on their face. I want to give a special shout-out to Benjamin and Rina; they took such excellent care of my 'bear baby'! They thoughtfully looked after my 'bear baby's' every need – food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation – and told me all the best spots for photos and check-ins, among many other things. They were also incredibly patient with my 'bear baby's' 'nagging,' never getting annoyed no matter how busy they were, haha. It was truly exceptional; I was genuinely sad to leave the hotel.

## Location: The location is incredibly convenient: just across the traffic light from the Zhongshan Road subway station exit, right on the main street. Taxis are also easy to hail. With public transport (bus and subway) right at the doorstep, getting anywhere is effortless. Zhanqiao Pier is also within walking distance, and the stroll there is quite pleasant, allowing you to admire the architecture and browse the small shops along the way. Just a heads-up, during hot weather, it's wise to stay cool. ## Environment: The courtyard itself is very quiet. Surrounding it are many small shops, accessible through a back gate from the courtyard – just knock and you can step right in to explore them, which was a fantastic feature. We'd read reviews suggesting ground-floor rooms are more convenient, so we booked one. However, the garden-style courtyard made it a bit challenging to wheel our luggage. But the front desk staff (the young gentlemen, in particular) were incredibly helpful, always carrying our bags in and out. Our suitcases were quite heavy, so we were truly grateful for their assistance! ## Stay Experience: The bedding was quite comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too soft. It would be ideal to have both a soft and a slightly firmer pillow option to cater to different preferences. The air conditioning kept the room refreshingly cool, but it seemed to lack a dehumidifier function (or we couldn't find it), making the room feel a bit too damp. Clothes hung out in the courtyard took a while to dry, but having a washing machine to pre-spin them helped a bit. Each room has its own private courtyard perfect for tea and conversation; on hot days, we simply moved our tea setup just outside our door, which was equally pleasant. We did notice a slight odor in the bathroom, but after mentioning it to the front desk, they promptly cleaned it again for us. Overall, our stay was very enjoyable, and we would definitely choose this place again on our next visit to Qingdao. The people of Shandong are genuinely warm, friendly, and talkative – they never showed any signs of annoyance, which we truly appreciated!

Service: Aileen from customer service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. She sent me a detailed video via WeChat showing how to get to the hotel and patiently answered all my questions. What truly amazed me was that I accidentally left my ring at the hotel, and I didn't even notice until after I'd already landed! Aileen proactively contacted me to inform me, which was absolutely wonderful! The overall hotel environment is excellent. With a direct connection from Qingdao North Station to Jiaodong Airport, and the hotel being located right inside the airport, it was extremely convenient for catching our flight the next day, especially when traveling with children. Facilities: They have a swimming pool that kids absolutely loved! (P.S. The young man at the pool reception provided fantastic service; my child was so eager to get into the water that he ran in, and the staff member proactively inflated his swim ring and brought it directly to the pool.) The gym was also very clean, smelled fresh, and all the equipment was in good working order. There's a convenience store downstairs, which was super handy for buying snacks and drinks for the kids. Cleanliness: The room was spotless, with no unpleasant odors at all. The staff even upgraded me to a five-star deluxe room free of charge, which was a wonderful bonus! Environment: Both the hotel lobby and the room environment were very pleasant – clean and quiet. Being located right inside the airport, it couldn't have been more convenient, especially for parents traveling with children!

A wonderful and cozy hotel with a perfect location! I had a fantastic stay here. The property is beautiful, the breakfasts are great, and I was so pleasantly surprised to find a coffee maker in my room—it made my mornings perfect. The best part is the incredible location. The hotel is just a short walk from the beautiful seaside promenade, where I enjoyed lovely walks and watched stunning sunsets every evening. It was also incredibly convenient to be able to easily walk to major sights like May Fourth Square and the Olympic Sailing Center. I had such a positive experience that I am already planning to stay here again on my next trip! 🌸🌸🌸

For my trip to Qingdao, I was looking for a hotel with convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining. After reading numerous traveler reviews, I opted for the newly opened Qingdao Yihai Garden Hotel (May Fourth Square branch). The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The facilities were comprehensive. Although there wasn't a direct sea view, the city lights at night were still dazzling. Breakfast was plentiful, offering local specialty snacks that tasted great. Even with many guests staying, everything remained quite orderly. A notable feature: The laundry room was a very popular spot, often with queues forming. The hotel site originally served as the Qingdao Workers' Sanatorium, which I personally believe contributes to its 'quiet oasis in a bustling city' feel. Downside: As some other guests have mentioned, the shower water temperature would occasionally fluctuate between hot and cold, and the water spray was too dispersed. I hope this can be improved.
