This was our second stay at Sunway Lost World Hotel, and it was a much better experience than our first. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a Classic Triple room, and having the night park passes included for both nights was a huge plus.
However, there were a few areas that could be improved:
Amenities: The room was clean and the linens were fresh. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in our room for both nights. Despite being told it just ”takes time” to warm up, it never did. Taking a cold shower at 11:00 PM after the night park was a major downside.
Dining & Location: The hotel isn't very close to outside eateries. Room service ends around 10:00 PM, so if you return from the night park late, options are very limited. Since we visited during the Raya break, most nearby Muslim-owned shops were closed, requiring a drive to find food.
Breakfast: Day one was enjoyable, but day two was a bit chaotic due to the surge of guests. Food wasn't refilled quickly enough and finding a table was a challenge and a lot of food were not refilled as it finished.
Overall, a good stay for the park access, but the water temperature and breakfast logistics during peak periods need attention.
The hotel's location is great, and it has its own underground parking with plenty of spaces, which is perfect for guests traveling by car. The breakfast was also good, I liked it. The room was spacious and comfortable. I did notice that the pillowcases hadn't been changed, but after mentioning it to the front desk, they quickly brought us new ones, which was satisfactory.
Had a pleasant stay at Weil Hotel Ipoh with my family. The location was excellent and very convenient, especially for getting around and finding food nearby. The service was good overall, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room and hotel were generally clean, although there is still a little room for improvement in cleanliness. The amenities were good and made the stay comfortable. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would consider staying here again.
Ipoh Excelsior Hotel
1. The location is excellent, with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. For its prime location, it offers great value for money.
2. The hotel staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful with their service.
3. Breakfast was decent, though most of the food was spicy. If you don't eat spicy food, your options will be limited, and there was only one type of vegetable. A special touch was the ice cream served at breakfast, which I'm sure kids would love.
4. The bed felt quite old and wasn't very comfortable. The bathroom, in particular, had many 'traps' on the floor – you could easily slip if not careful.
5. There were no small hand towels in the bathroom. After washing my hands, I had to either use a bath towel or toilet paper, which ended up leaving paper bits all over my hands, forcing me to re-wash them.
6. The hotel didn't even have a basic first-aid kit. I accidentally cut my hand and bled, and when I asked staff for a plaster, they surprisingly told me they didn't have any!
Excellent! [Highly Recommended] AC Hotel Ipoh – A Comfortable Choice You'll Love After Staying!
My recent trip to Ipoh included a stay at AC Hotel by Marriott Ipoh, and the overall experience was so satisfying that I just had to share it!
✅ Super Convenient Location
Right in the heart of Ipoh, very close to the airport (seriously, it's close!). It's quick to get to Lost World, Old Town, and all the major food areas. There's also an AEON Mall nearby, perfect for late-night snacks and shopping.
✅ Comfortable and Clean Rooms
The room size was decent, the bed was very comfortable, and you could choose your pillow (just call room service for different firmness options). The bathroom was clean, water pressure was good, and the overall design was simple yet tasteful.
✅ Attentive Service
The front desk and staff were all very friendly, and check-in/out was efficient. I even checked in smoothly in the early morning, and they helped arrange a parking spot.
✅ Practical Facilities
There's a gym, a swimming pool (not huge, but good enough for relaxing), and a lounge for a drink. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection, especially the Nasi Lemak and Kaya Toast – delicious!
✅ Great Value for Money
For a Marriott brand hotel, the price is reasonable and often cheaper than comparable hotels in Kuala Lumpur. It's suitable for both business and family travel.
📌 A Small Tip
The hotel doesn't have its own large parking lot, but there's a paid parking lot right next door (the hotel has a partnership, so remember to ask about discounts). Also, the soundproofing in the rooms is just average, so I'd recommend staying on a higher floor.
💬 Summary:
Clean, convenient, great service, and fair prices – I'll definitely choose AC Hotel again on my next visit to Ipoh!
The front desk and room service were very warm and attentive. The room was clean and hygienic, and the hotel's location is very close to shopping malls and dining centers, making transportation convenient. I highly recommend everyone choose this hotel for their stay!
I researched a lot of hotels in Ipoh. Most hotels are spread out around the Ipoh “downtown”.
If you’re arriving on a bus from KL, the bus terminal Amanjaya is 9km away. 20 mins on the local bus will take you to Terminal Kidd and it’s a 15 mins walk to M Boutique. I wouldn’t suggest this option if you have a lot of suitcases as the walk is on the main roads with cars and truck zipping past.
Location is surrounded by industrial and car dealerships, but once arrived you’re surprised! They live up to their name - Boutique! They have been in that location for 13 years.
Staff are friendly and helpful! Room (single room with no windows) was clean and comfortable and provided the amenities after a long day on the bus. And the hotel - SMELLED nice. Like a high end hotel.
It was a nice treat if you’re a solo traveler looking for comfort on a budget. I tried to extend an extra night, however Trip were only showing double and twin rooms - out of my budget for a solo traveler.
Asking at reception if the single room was available, they checked and I paid directly to hotel for a 2nd night. Your loss Trip!
Hotel amenities were great. Hot shower, WiFi and air conditioning working.
It’s a 10-15 min walk to the old city. When I arrived around 4 PM, a lot of things are already closed and quiet.
Walking around in the dark back to the hotel was a little uneasy, but you can easily just arrange a car to GRAB.
Highly recommended!
Its a newly refurbished hotel. Within city center. Walking distance to all shops and eateries. Can even walk to taiping lake gardens. Room is very spacious. Big bathroom, water pressure nice. Rooftop swumming pool. Only setback is a bit noisy during nite time as hotel is next the main road. Did not try the food.
The self check-in and check-out was super quick and convenient, much better than the traditional way! The hotel parking lot entrance is in the alley next door, which is more of a back alley, so it'll test your driving skills. There are plenty of free parking spots, but getting luggage in and out isn't very convenient. Street parking nearby requires a separate payment (government-owned spots). The room size was just right.
First time try out. Lobby is nice and cosy except personally I don’t like the room. Soundproofing of the door is terrible and the theme colour of the room I don’t really like it. It doesn’t give out a very good vibes. Gym room located not a good location and it close super early around 8pm??? I didn’t took picture of the room cos I just want to faster get over for 1 night and check out. I won’t be back.
P/s I read from review hair dryer is Dyson brand. It is not. Is just normal China brand. Quality is okay as most things are made in China.
Very Good
