Phra That Suton Mongkhonkiri Temple
Wat Lab... the most amazing Lanna temple 🎏
📍Wat Phra That Suton Mongkhon Khiri, Den Chai District, Phrae Province, a secret temple that is not so secret because it is located on the Den Chai-Lampang road. The highlight is the giant reclining Buddha statue on the mountain. When you see it, you will be amazed. 😲
😇 This temple is one of the most beautiful collections of applied Lanna art. It was modeled after important temples in the North and other countries such as Burma, China, and Laos, which Luang Pho Montree, or as the locals call him, Kru Ba Noi, the abbot of the temple, created.
The best of 11 Lanna arts that were adapted to build the church, the temple, and various buildings in the temple are as follows:
🔸The front door of the church from Wat Phra That Lampang Luang
🔸The eastern door from Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
🔸The western door From Wat Phra That Luang, Vientiane
🔸 Zigzag-shaped Ubosot base from Wang Prasat Phraya Mangrai, Chiang Rai Province
🔸 Carved doors and windows from Wihan Lai Kham, Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai
🔸 Northern style wind chimes from Wat Ton Kwen, Sameung District, Chiang Mai
🔸 7-headed Naga, Khmer style / stucco apsara from Wat Chet Yot, Chiang Mai
🔸 Ho Trai from Wat Phra Singh, Chiang Mai
🔸 Bell Tower from Wat Phra That Hariphunchai
🔸 Large hut made of golden teak from Ban Thai Sibsong Panna, China
🔸 30-tat pagoda, Chiang Saen art from Wat Phra That No (No), Sibsong Panna region
🚗 If you are traveling up north next time and pass this area, we recommend that you come and see its magnificent beauty. And pray for good luck throughout the journey 🙏🏻
