Had the most amazing time living the island life here. Got to snorkel off the beach where we saw big turtles, watched an outdoor movie on the beach with cocktails, had the best food with great value for money and did a boat tour where we saw baby turts, amazing corals, island hopped and underwater statues! Travel tip: make sure you get your hotel on the side where you get off the ferry as it’s an island where you cycle to get around, which makes it magical. ‘Vila Ombak’ was perfect with its location, resort-like rooms, and multiple pools The east side of Gili is bustling, while the west side is private! I wanted a place that was bustling, close to the port, and quiet, so I chose Villa Ombak, located on the lower west side.💗 In particular, in addition to the main pool, there was another private pool, and I really liked the hotel’s exclusive beach beds, dinner buffet, and movie screenings✨ The room type I stayed in was ‘Lumbung Hut’, a two-story detached house! Gili Trawangan has been my favourite place in Indonesia so far. Almost every day here, we’ve had the absolute pleasure of swimming with the turtles. It still blows our mind that the turtles are almost always there and you can just rock up on the beach to have some of the best experiences of your life - for free! The island is so small (we bicycled around the entire coast in an hour!) and there are no motor vehicles at all on the island. Instead, people opt for bicycles & (unfortunately) horses. This really heightens the feeling of ‘the island life’🌴 From Gili T, you can do snorkelling trips and trips to the neighbouring islands of Gili Air & Gili Meno. And, although we have heard very bad things about the ferries to Gili T, our ferry (we went with Eka Jaya) was less than an hour & super smooth! We stayed on Gili T for 3 nights in total and we were so happy we went! A note if your hotel is not on the east side of the island by the dock you will most likely need to get a horse and carriage with your luggage to your accommodation because that is the only transportation on the island other than bicycles. Our accommodation was on the west side of the island so we therefore had to get a horse and carriage which cost about 150,000 rupiah. Once we got to our accommodation we hired bikes to get around the island which is very easy as it’s very flat. One of the days we went snorkelling and we swam with turtles. There are so many turtle points around the island, the best way to find them is either ask one of the locals at each point or see how many people are in the sea snorkelling as that will indicate if there are any turtles there. We saw around 5/6 turtles this day. There is a bit of party on the island however we didn’t go out in the night, we did however make it to Mad Monkey Friday foam party for a few drinks which turned out to be super fun. They usually have a few patty’s on during the week. Overall loved the island, we didn’t go to any other islands as we were happy to stay on Gili T, but I know you can do snorkelling tours around the other islands and some people do stay a night on some other islands but all in all Gili T is stunning and great for snorkelling and a snippet of paradise. #beachlife #gili #gilit #gilitrawangan #snorkelling #bali #mytripvlog #tripblazers #summervacation #passionpassport

Ambiance/Facilities - The bar has a very nice open space restaurant side with the bar in the middel then across the street there is the Sand area with a few tables where you can admire the nice blue water of the island. The play acoustic music in the background which gives a nice relaxing feel. There is variety of cocktails and other drinks to choose from. The food menu looks I did not see a lot of good choices that I liked. I ended up ordering the wok fried seafood which tasted very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Gilli Trawangan or Gilli T is one of three gili islands just off the coast by Lombok, but they are also accessible from Bali, which is where we took the boat from. One morning I wandered off down to the port at Pandangbai and started chatting to some locals in a cafe/bar. They recommended that I head to Gilli T and helped me get a ticket for the ferry. It was significantly cheaper buying it at the port than online. I had a few hours until the boat departed so packed a few essentials and booked an unbelievable hotel for a very affordable rate. (Aston Sunset) We set off from the port in Padangbai on the ferry and had a few beers on the deck as the boat took around 2 hours. Once we arrived on the island, into the main bar area and port, we jumped off and headed through the middle of the island on foot passing by the locals houses (you could also walk around the beach path), but there are no cars, only bikes and horses. The hotel was perfect for relaxing in as it had a beachfront restaurant, secluded pool, friendly and helpful reception and lots of local seafood restaurants nearby. Food!!! For those that like seafood this is paradise, huge prawns, fresh fish and simple salads were what they were catching and selling in the restaurants. the tables and beenbags were placed along the waterfront so you could watch the pink sunsets. Ok I saved the best for last. On Gili Trawangan you can head out to see sea turtles, there are boat tours that will drop you off above the turtles for an easy find or you can rent the gear and swing out from the beach. I'd recommend only swimming out like this if you are a strong swimmers as it took me almost an hour swimming against the tide to get back in. This is a spot I will return too!!! I stayed 2 nights in a private pool villa at this beautiful resort. Great location and convenient. Everything you need is just within walking distance. The staffs is friendly and helpful. This villa have 2 bedrooms, a living room and definitely have a private pool. The room is spacious and clean. The pool is big and well maintained. But the living room have no air conditioning so I seldom stay in the living room. Our room's bathroom have 2 doors. One is connected to the bedroom and the other one is connected straight to the pool. I find out that the lock of the door that connects to the pool is malfunction. So i call the lobby and they send maintenance staff to fix it even late in the midnight. Good service. Thumb up for them. We having our breakfast at the resort restaurant called Kuda Bar. The location of the restaurant is across the road right on the beach. It's have several tree houses so you can enjoy your breakfast on the tree house or right on the beach. This hotel was incredible, the staff were wonderful and their service exceptional. They knew each of us by name almost immediately. Breakfast was great, we requested the welcome smoothie most mornings which was very yummy and there were lots of choice for food. Evening meals were good, we sat down by the beach with the breeze. Bikes are available to cycle around the island. We were staying in a family suite for 3 nights and it was amazing, it was so big and spotlessly clean and the outside bathroom was very novel. Not flashy but elegant and genuinely wish I'd been able to stay for longer. Also, the hotel arranged yoga for us and a lovely lady came and gave us private lessons in the afternoon, nice to have one-to-one instruction and not expensive. In Lombok, Indonesia, this is a hotel that gives you a sense of well-being. All the staff are very warm and welcoming, bringing you the best stay experience. The hotel atmosphere is very good, even when you leave, you will feel reluctant to leave. The waiter is very friendly and can remember everyone's name. All meals are served in the room, as well as afternoon tea. Its 5 minutes to go to the beach. Because its a New Years Eve, the Europeans and Americans are especially special. Next to the New Years party, the music is particularly embarrassing. Until midnight, I have experienced a European and American New Year. There is no breakfast room, so each villa is an exclusive breakfast, delivered by someone. I also booked a private pool, small. The hotel is a wonderful feeling between the cracks in the houses. There is a hole in the old small courtyard. Lombok has a place of development and no development, which is very mixed. Lagging behind and luxury. The vehicles on the island are bicycles and carriages. The sunset is beautiful and worth seeing. The hotel also offers free bicycles, which are very shabby but better than nothing. There is a little distance to the beach at sunset, and cycling will be faster. The hotel is very mature in terms of transportation (charged), and there is no feeling of inconvenience.

📍 ✨ 3 Days at Gili: How I Spent Time Between the Ocean, Horses & Tropics Here no bike 🙈 it’s absolutely ECO resort! ▌ 🐴🚴♀️🌊 The Best Escape for Body & Soul ▌ 🌅 Day 1: Sunrise over the ocean, breakfast & bikes My day started with sunrise 🌅 Breakfast with an ocean view at Gili Lestari or right on the beach — fresh fruit, avocado toast, cappuccino ☕ And right after breakfast — we grabbed bikes and hit the road! We rode to a horse farm. The horses were sweet and big, like they knew we were coming. Fed them carrots, pet them, took some pics… and soon we were in the saddle 🐎 Riding along the coast at sunset? Magical. Wind in your hair, sand under hooves, ocean on your right. Then dinner somewhere by the water — and the evening ended dancing at Rabbit Hall 💃🕺 ▌ 🌙 Day 2: Open-air cinema & swimming with turtles Second day started early. Morning at the beach — just lying there listening to the waves 🌊 Then breakfast at Aston Resort, and suddenly came the idea — swimming with turtles! About 10 meters from shore, they swim peacefully as if waiting for you. With mask and snorkel, a little nervousness — and there you are, face to face with them. The turtles don’t even run — they look at you curiously. Evening — open-air cinema 🎬 Bean bags, blankets, popcorn and a movie under the stars. One of the most romantic moments of my trip. ▌ 🌺 Day 3: Gili Trawangan – Three Islands, One Magic 🐢🐠 This was the main day: an exotic tour to the three Gili islands (Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air) We left by boat from Senggigi, reached the first island in half an hour. First stop — Gili Trawangan: white sand beaches, water like an aquarium. Lunch there, bike ride around, a quick dip. Next — Gili Meno: the most romantic. Grabbed our snorkels — and into the water! Fish of all colors, coral reefs, and again — turtles 🐢🐟 They call this place the “aquarium of Indonesia” — and it’s true! Last stop — Gili Air: local villages, markets, cafes and a turtle sanctuary 🐢 There, I saw how baby turtles get ready for life in the ocean. People rescue them, raise them, and then release them back into the sea.
