You can rent a boat for 1200 bhat. Maximum number of people on a boat can range between5-7. It is better to go in larger groups or as a part of a group. They take you through deep waters , and the trip lasts for around 2-2.5 hours. The pink dolphins also known as a the humpback are a rare sight, but we were able to see them jump at a considerable distance. An interesting fact is the color of dolphin changes due to the age. The newborns are dark grey and their color changes to white or pink as they grow up. Tips before going : Hat and Sunscreen is a must. Avoid going during the monsoon season. Khanom is an hour’s drive from Surat Thani , making it highly popular amongst the local expats. Catering to those expats is this cafe called “Frankies Cafe”. It serves a variety of western food, including a bunch of sandwiches , baguettes, croissants and cookies. It’s pocket friendly and their coffee is great and you can just sit and chill there.
