All Moments About Songjiang District
Gotta catch’em all at Songjiang InCity mall⚡️
I'm always on the lookout for unique and fun experiences. When paying a visit to Guangfulin cultural site i was lucky to pass by InCity Mall in Songjiang district, little did I know I'd be greeted by a giant Pikachu statue, ready to unleash its electric charm! This mega-sized Pokémon greeted visitors from the accessible rooftop on the last floor of the mall.
No matter your age, this electrifying attraction brought out the inner child in everyone. As I snapped a drone selfie with Pikachu, I couldn't help but feel nostalgia from my childhood years when I was a Pokemon fan from its beginning. The mall itself was filled with vibrant shops and tasty treats that added an extra spark to my adventure.
InCity Mall's Pikachu statue proved to be an irresistible magnet, drawing visitors from all corners of the city. It's not every day you get to witness a beloved character brought to life in such an impressive way. So, if you're a Pokémon enthusiast or simply seeking a dose of whimsical fun, InCity Mall is an absolute must-visit. Just be prepared for the electrifying energy that awaits you!

Thames Town, Songjiang, Shanghai
Getting There - there is a train station 10 minutes in a Didi, there are also several bus routes that go by this area.
Attractions - Thames Town is an attraction within itself, a combination of London, British village and Liverpool architecture, it even has a fake dock with water. Don't forget to visit the Zhongshuge, and the central church.
Hotels - I took a day trip from Hangzhou, but there are lots of hotels around Songjiang district.
Food & Restaurants - There is a mixture of western cafes and Chinese restaurants, but the quality is not always good. Starbucks is central to the "village".

A place that perfectly recreates the appearance of Shanghai during the Enlightenment Period, Shanghai Film Paradise
Shanghai Film Studio, located in Songjiang District, Shanghai,
is a filming location for the famous Secret Agent and Kung Fu Hustle.
And Running Man was also filmed here.
From Nanjing Road, Shanghai's main street, to Shikumen-style houses,
everything from train platforms to dock scenes can be filmed here.
There are still quite a few filming locations, so there are military control zones.
But the site is quite large, so there's no problem.
If you time it right, you can even ride the old trams that used to run through downtown Shanghai.
From old billboards painted in oil, to various shops, churches, and European-style houses, the retro atmosphere itself is quite interesting.
The highlight is the huge prop warehouse that houses old vehicles.
You could almost believe that this is an old car exhibition hall,
so I think it will have a significant impact on car enthusiasts.
However, since there is no place to buy anything inside, I recommend that you bring some simple snacks. There are many restaurants outside the entrance, but the site is so large that it takes a long time to get there ^^

Stunning bookstore
#tigeryear2022
This amazing architectural entrance to Zhongshuge Shenzhen has seen thousands of influencers flock to the store, including myself. Designed by Li Xiang from X+Living Studios, the swirling staircase is not just ornamental - it also serves as a bookcase in parts.
There is plenty of room throughout the entire store to sit and read, and the four different rooms provide different perspectives on the reading experience.
The use of black marble throughout the stores often contrast with the children's reading room - full of soft blues and pinks, plush furnishings and wooden chairs.
Museum day at Shanghai Astronomy Museum
The best museum for holiday or weekend in Shanghai is “Shanghai Astronomy Museum” There is a metro station near this museum, namely “Dishuihu lake” It is quite convenient. This is a new Astronomy museum so inside it is so modern and so great. There is a big round roof movie that it is so impressive.

Shanghai Astronomy Museum is relatively new so expect big crowd everyday. The museum focuses on science, cosmology, astronomy, astrophysics and space exploration. It is a good plan for the CNY break if you are around in Shanghai. You can reach the museum by subway on line 16 until the last stop DiShui Lake and then walk from there for around 12, min #tigeryear2022 #shanghaiastronomymuseum

Fun in Seshan
Getting There - Metro 9/ Seshan
Attractions - Shangahi Sculpture Perm
Location: 1158 林茵路
Today I visited Shanghai Sculpture Park. Its in Songjiang district so a trip from downtown but totally worth the visit. The park is massive, the sculptures are so cool, and there are paddle boats and different water activities you can do.
People has tents, snacks and blankets relaxing at the park on a lovely day. There’s lots to do and see and so many great photo ops!
It was 100RMB for adults to enter and a lower fee for children.

the biggest water park in Shanghai
One of two big water parks in Shanghai, located right next to Happy Valley. The park design is world class, with a dozen full-sized water slides, kids areas, cute stone sculptures of dragons and worms, a giant Mayan god who dumps water on everyone, "scuba diving" in what looks like a dirty fishtank with some Mayan relics, manmade bat caves and showers shaped like giant Sprite fountain dispensers, and acres of high quality stone flooring. Food is not great. Only open during the summer. Shanghai Playa Maya Water Park, also known as Maya Beach Water Park (玛雅海滩水公园 in Chinese), is located at the south-west areas of the Happy Valley theme park. The water park occupies an area of 12.8 hectares (31.6 acres) and can accommodate more than 26,000 visitors per day. The size and infrastructure of the park allow to host about 14,000 people simultaneously in one hour. Based on the energy-saving principle, the facilities are run by the power of water, which consumes only 25% electricity of the traditional over-water roller coasters. #urbanexplorer

Songjiang quest: Super spicy
Wangxiang Yuan is a Hunan cuisine restaurant located in Wanda Plaza, Songjiang district. There are six Xiangxiaodi Hunan flavor Yirenshi restaurants in Shanghai, seems like this franchise initiated in 2002.
One of the most popular things about this restaurant is the lady in traditional Hunan dress inviting you in. This Hunan food 🥘 restaurant has a nice calm ambience to visit with family or groups, you have many fresh vegetables outside for presentation.
Although Sichuan food is known to be spicy 🌶, Hunan food may be even spicier 🌶 🌶 , with a bit of sour from the vinager. This restaurant aims to bring the experience of Hunan into Shanghai. Definitely try the fish dishes, they are very popular and delicious.
If you can’t manage spice, be very careful about what you order.

Songjiang quest: Brunch
A beautiful place to have brunch in Songjiang area is A++ Bistro. Located next to Fuyue hotel is an easy place to spot, although some renovations outside may not make it so interesting at first glance, just wait to go inside and taste the food! This restaurant is supposed to be 3 floors, but I guess our timing was bad.
Either for a coffee ☕️ , spaghetti 🍝 or some ribs, brunch options get better and better if you decide to go with company. More people implies more dishes you get to try. Not a big fan of drinking my coffee while eating ribs (that’s for digestion after a meal), but you can change the coffee for juice or go with water.
Some of the salads 🥗 look quite tasty. Meat 🥩 cuts are big, perfect for meat lovers. Pasta and roasted chicken is also delicious. They have some nice dessert options too but we didn’t try it.

Songjiang quest: Saizeriya
As many knows, Saizeriya is a common Italian-like restaurant franchise in Beijing and Shanghai. Originally from Japan (this is new information for me 😯), Saizeriya can be found in many countries now, including China and Singapore.
This Saizeriya branch in Wanda Plaza was beautiful. You can find almost same food in any Saizeriya restaurants, however this branch was out of the ordinary. Inner decoration was fancy, even had a romantic ambience. Perfect for sharing a glass of wine with your seafood 🦞 pasta, to visit with your family or your group of friends.
Saizeriya seeks to provide “good food at affordable prices”, reason why it’s the favorite location for many (specially students). Although, I was surprised to see how my Chinese friends are not such of big fan of this franchise mostly tagged for them as “foreign food”. Well, foreigners love the open drink bar 🥤. 😂

Songjiang quest:Never’s enough ice cream
DQ Ice Cream shop is located in third floor of Wanda Plaza. So many delicious options for coffee, cold drinks, ice cream 🍨 and cakes 🍰. And way more affordable than other ice cream/cake shops around.
Cakes are gorgeous, extremely sweet (for my taste). Chocolate cake and vainilla ice cream is an amazing blend. Some tropical fruit options look very refreshing for this summer hot days, specially mangoes 🥭 and coconuts🥥 . Just try to eat fast so your ice cream won’t melt 🍦.
This particular shop has one of the nicest decoration I have seen for a DQ shop. The Shanghai sign using paper ice cream cups was very creative.

Songjiang quest: Ice cream drinks
During my week in Songjiang, had the pleasure to visit Wanda Plaza. So many stores and shops to enjoy!! This shopping 🛍 mall gives you a fancy and high tech look you might be missing in your summer.
Haagen-Dazs shop in 1F was extremely nice, with a fancy ambience and delicious options for this summer. You can chose between a Mojito cocktail 🍹/bubble tea with liquor, an ice coffee (also resembled bubble tea), several cold cakes 🎂 🍰 or many ice cream options you can chose from (and select your own style).
My “Mojito” was quite tasty and refreshing. Cakes are absolutely gorgeous, look like art you don’t want to eat. Ice cream cones are also beautiful, but feel like they are going to melt before you’re able to eat them. Specially during a hot July day.

Songjiang quest: Craving for pizza?
Closer to Songjiang downtown you find Shihuite Chengyuan Commercial Plaza. Papa John’s Pizza is located in 1F (do not confuse with B1), although is easy to spot from the street due to its “Pizza” sign. Even if you are not thinking in pizza, you can’t stop thinking about it once you see it.
Papa John’s is a popular franchise worldwide, nevertheless many people think food is same in every restaurant or country. Well, is not. This particular restaurant in bigger than others you can find in Shanghai, probably the only pizza restaurant in the area. Songjiang branch offers different pizzas 🍕, fried chicken 🍗 , spaghetti 🍝, BQQ options, some pizza quesadillas (pic) and most meals are a Chinese adaptation of Italian food.
Despite the popular name, like will happen with many restaurants in China, try to think in this restaurants like a gastronomic fusion. If you open your mind, you will realize food different, and quite good. This place had little people inside, but many order by delivery. Also, this particular restaurant has a small section for children.

Songjiang quest: Night visit to Shihuite
Closer to Songjiang downtown you find Shihuite Chengyuan Commercial Plaza. This plaza is a bit small than Wanda Plaza or shopping malls near Gold Street, However, there are a few special details about this mall.
More than a shopping mall, this commercial center has few options for adventurous people: trampoline (pic 3), indoor skateboard 🛹 area (pic 4) and a martial arts 🥋 small academy in 2F. Skate area is in B1, just under the circus 🎪 like awning.
This commercial plaza has few resting areas, beautiful to visit during the night. Few restaurants, clothing shops and bakeries are located along 1F. If you walk for a few minutes you will find Songjiang downtown. During the day, there is a close by park you can visit too.

Songjiang quest: Huanghe water front
Songjiang district is under urban upgrade project and green developments of the city. If you visit Songjiang, you see this area is surrounded by many rivers, channels (52) and new waterfronts.
Huanghe waterfront is located along the main road, next to important building complexes of apartments, commercial malls and hotels. This waterfront provides such a gorgeous view, and allows you to go for a short walk to refresh your mind. Like a little bubble in of nature when you only have a few minutes to spare.
At any given moment of the day you can see people enjoying walks, exercises or even jogging (although I don’t think they have enough space, maybe just add the waterfront to their jogging route). This front is located a few minutes from the Wulonghu park, if you take the main road (Rongyue Rd) and move South. If not, you have the option to visit the Gold Street just across the street for shopping or enjoying a nice meal.

Songjiang quest: Golden Street
Songjiang district is a beautiful area in Shanghai, not well-known by people despite this was the town that originated Shanghai city. The deer is the symbol of this district. Songjiang Xincheng Gold Street is a beautiful area that comprises many shops, restaurants, commercial malls and small amusement area. Streets are pedestrians-only. Perfect for one day-trip.
Songjiang Gold Street go from Rongyue Rd to Guangxing Rd, now covering all block. Pedestrian streets are wide, probably to held stands during seasonal festivals in the area. During weekends, amusement area with cute cars, wheels and train are very popular with the kids.
Most shops seems to be quite small but modern design, clothing shops look fancy. More than restaurants, ice cream shops and ice tea shops were the ones bringing my attention, but this very hot afternoon made me biased. Nevertheless, was a nice stroll in this part of the city!

Songjiang quest: Wulonghu Park
Wulonghu Park in Songjiang district seems to be one of the newest green developments the city’s urban upgrade projects for embellishment. This embellishment plans include channel and waterfront management. If you visit Songjiang, you see this area is surrounded by many rivers, channels (52) and waterfronts. This area resembles a little Chongming Island wetlands.
Wulonghu Park seems to be quite new, I find it in the map but can’t find references of the name of this river. This green area is quite big, but trees are still small (recently planted/moved). Therefore, not much shadow during the day, and for a hot July day was not a good idea. However, I drag myself around because this area was so beautiful.
There are many paths to follow, that goes under the bridge to continue your walk without worrying about main road (very easy access and to locate, too). Few places to rest. During the night you can see few building lights and gives a nice (and romantic) view of the city. Paths require better lighting, but I’m sure will be added soon.
No many mosquitoes 🦟, despite the fact is summer and besides the river (big plus). But don’t forget your sunblock ☀️

Shanghai Getaway: Flower Power
🌸 When we hear "Botanical garden", we usually think about some boring garden with flowers and stuff. But Chengshan one is not the same. You totally have to go there! And here are some reasons:
🌸 It is modern. You saw that alien like building on the first pic? This is a green house. The line of those look even more impressive in real life.
🌸 It is HUGE. It has mountings to climb, loans to lie down, forests to wonder in, lakes to watch and even more.
🌸 It has way more apart of plants: several areas with playgrounds for kids that look like a pirate ship or deserts full of sand.
🌸 Orchid greenhouse with... dinosaurs! Yes, while you are walking around amazing orchids and trying to pick up your jaw from the ground, you can notice some very well done motion dinosaurs. So cool!
🌸 Getting there is not that hard if you have a car, if bot, still can get there taking subway line 9 and intercanging to Songjiang 96 bus. 7 stops and you are there.
🌸 Address: Songjiang District, 3888 Chenhua Rd (松江区辰花路3888)

Funded and
Funded and built by the Shanghai Film Group Corporation, the Shanghai Film Park is pretty much a large playground for Instagrammers in Shanghai. The backlot features architecture inspired by 1930s and 40s Shanghai, in an area that covers around 43 hectares, and features elements such as the classic shikumen buildings, the Zhejiang steel bridge, and a train station.⠀
⠀
Many movies have been filmed here, including Kung Fu Hustle and The Mummy 3!⠀

At the top
At the top of She Hill in Sheshan Park, Shanghai, stands the Basilica of Our Lady of Sheshan, a large Romanesque structure built in the 1920s (replacing an earlier church from 1863.) It is in the large Sheshan National Forest Park, a huge outdoor area in western Shanghai including an amusement park, resorts, a planetarium and other attractions.
I visited on a Sunday which was both Qingming Festival and Easter Sunday, so it was predictably busy, but only the initial climb up the hill was really crowded. Avoid this set of stairs (leading from the entrance gate) and climb from the east side, which has a gentler ascent and the Stations of the Cross along the way.
Enjoy the relatively fresh air, fine view and many trees as you walk around the park.
You can take the metro to Sheshan Station, from which point there are free shuttles. I opted to walk and it took about an hour from the metro station to West Sheshan Park where the basilica is located. From this side you can also get a city bus to the line 17 station, from which point I continued to Zhujiajiao, which is only a few stations further along.

The "Sillo
The "Sillow Water Lily World" Goddess 2019 Water Lily Exhibition is being held at the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. This year's Water Lily Exhibition has seven exhibition areas, and more than 300 varieties are on display, which is very worth seeing! In particular, this year's special feature is that the Botanical Garden's own innovative "Lyqin" purple water lily variety is very amazing. The yellow scattering flower buds and the thick flower stalks combine the charm of "Goddess" and "female man", which is one of the best.
If you like Monet's water lily series, you can feel a high degree of reduction here, and a quiet world of water lily is enough to make people think. There are also many beautiful black swan in the lake, which brings a lot of vitality to the world of water lily.
I suggest you not to watch the water lily too early or too late, because the opening of the water lily is more willful, too early and too late to appreciate its fully open state, it must be just right!
If you missed this year's water lily exhibition, it doesn't matter. There are many other beautiful plants in the botanical garden for viewing. For example, the net red powder will soon mature, and the National Day can be considered to play in the botanical garden.
