A Magical Hotel Stay in Taizhou with Friends! Absolutely Stunning!
An in-depth experience at the Sheraton Taizhou, the perfect weekend getaway for college couples!
Convenient Transportation and Surroundings
🚗 The hotel is conveniently located, with a taxi fare of approximately ¥12 from Taizhou Railway Station. Situated in the Jiaojiang district, getting around the area is generally at the base fare. I visited Taizhou in March to see my college friends, so this time I mainly wanted to relax at the hotel and didn't go sightseeing.
Comfortable Room Type and Layout
🏘️ We stayed in a Deluxe River View King Room. Due to the summer holiday rush, we weren't able to upgrade to a suite, which was understandable. Our room was on the 16th floor (the suites are on the top floor, the 20th). The room layout was well-designed, and the river view was quite expansive. The hotel also thoughtfully provided a welcome fruit platter with a good variety, not the usual banana and apple combination.
High-Quality Amenities and Facilities
🛌 The hotel opened in 2023, so all the facilities are new. There's a washing machine, dryer, gym, and swimming pool. Even the smallest Superior King Room is a spacious 41 sq m. The bathroom features TOTO fixtures, and the hardware is top-notch among recently opened Sheraton hotels (comparable to the one in Haining). Although the Dyson hair dryers previously provided in all rooms are no longer available, the rooms have a full-length mirror, screen mirroring TV, smart home features, a minibar, and a bathtub (many new Marriott hotels have done away with bathtubs, so it's commendable that the Sheraton Taizhou and Ninghai have kept them).
Excellent Soundproofing and Cleanliness
🧹 Throughout our stay, the room's soundproofing was excellent, providing a quiet and restful environment. The cleanliness was also impeccable, with the room spotlessly cleaned and the bedding comfortable and odor-free.
Attentive Service
💁♂️ From the moment we arrived, the doorman helped us open the door and carried our luggage (we had two suitcases as we were heading to Wenzhou the next day). Room service was prompt, and even takeout food was hand-delivered by staff to our door, which was much more convenient than robot service during peak hours. This deserves special praise. The hotel also provides free ice, readily available for drinks, and the room service for ice was also very timely. The only minor disappointment was that the previous wooden room key cards have been replaced with ordinary black cards, which is a bit of a shame for those who like to collect them.
Diverse Dining Options
🍽 The hotel's Cantonese restaurant is said to be run by the original chef team from Xin Rong Ji. However, our stay coincided with the start of the fishing season, and we were craving Ah Hong Pai Dang, a nearby food stall. So, we took a short taxi ride to get takeout and brought it back to the hotel. The next day, we had a reservation at the main Xin Rong Ji restaurant, so we didn't try the hotel's restaurant (though I've heard the reviews are average).
Other Useful Tips
💗 If you're coming specifically to dine at the three-Michelin-starred Xin Rong Ji restaurant, driving is recommended for greater convenience. If you don't have a car, be sure to book a ride in advance, as you might encounter the awkward situation of a DiDi driver accepting your order but not showing up (the taxi fare is typically over ¥60). Also, the hotel's river view is relatively ordinary, nothing particularly stunning. Additionally, there's a shopping mall a 5-minute walk from the hotel, with dining options like Haidilao nearby, making it very convenient for meals. The gym is open 24 hours, and the pool is heated, so you can enjoy them if you have time. The breakfast is standard Marriott fare, nothing particularly special.
