[Ethiopia] The harshest place in the world! The brilliantly colored Danakil Desert

The Danakil Desert in eastern Ethiopia is feared as the "world's toughest tourist spot." It is located on the Great Rift Valley 100m below sea level, and is close to the mantle flowing underground, so it is an extremely hot area with temperatures exceeding 50 degrees. It is also mocked as "the place with the highest temperature that humans can live in," and it is so hot that you will seriously die. I visited in the summer, when it is said that visiting in the summer is a suicidal act, and I was drying out every day... The highly salty hydrogen sulfide emits toxic gases, and some people need to wear masks. The heat and gas are literally life-threatening. It is said that the beautiful, vivid color of the desert is caused by the bacteria that live in the hot water. Even so, I was surprised to find that there were four Japanese people, including me, on the local tour I joined, and four or five Japanese people on another tour I happened to come across.
