[Nezame-no-Toko] A scenic spot where the granite has been deeply carved by the flow of the Kiso River

Nezame-no-Toko in Agematsu, Nagano Prefecture, was carved into granite by the rapids of the Kiso River, and has long been famous as a scenic spot. You can go right up to the tip of the carved rock, where you can feel the power of nature up close, and the emerald green color of the water is a memorable sight. To get to Nezame-no-Toko, you need to park your car in the parking lot along National Route 19 and go down the steep stairs from the grounds of Rinkawa-ji Temple. I think it took about 10 minutes to climb up. (I have also included a photo of Nezame-no-Toko looking down from Rinkawa-ji Temple.) Rinkawa-ji Temple is also home to Benzaiten Shrine, which was ordered to be built in 1711 by Tokugawa Yoshimichi, the fourth lord of Owari Domain, and Hello Kitty is also enshrined there along with Benzaiten.
