Chulamani Temple, Samut Songkhram

Wat Chulamani is an ancient temple with a history of more than 300 years on the bank of Amphawa Canal, Tambon Bang Chang, Amphoe Amphawa. It was built in the late Ayutthaya period. It is assumed that Thao Kaew Phlik, the ancestor of the Bang Chang royal family, was the builder. Inside the temple are many sacred objects and the immortal remains of Luang Pu Nuea Kowit, the former abbot. You can also admire the beautiful marble four-sided church covered with green slate from Pakistan. The highlight here is the statue of Thao Wessuwan, which has 4 postures. The current abbot once dreamed of Thao Wessuwan and promised him that when he returned to the human world, he would place a statue of Thao Wessuwan in the temple. This became the origin of Thao Wessuwan of Wat Chulamani, which people like to worship to bring good fortune and ward off bad luck.
