A sacred place of syncretic Shinto and Buddhism where the legend of Kukai defeating an evil star remains

📍Torihoshiji Temple Torihoshiji Temple is where the legend of Kobo Daishi Kukai "defeating the evil star that brings disaster to the earth" remains. It is also the inner sanctuary of the 19th temple, Tatee-ji Temple, and the grounds, where temples and shrines coexist, still retain the appearance of the Shinbutsu Shugo era. Torihoshiji Temple's temple grounds are part of Iwawaki Park in Unoura Town, and the cherry blossoms in spring, hydrangeas in summer, and autumn leaves in autumn are beautiful. There is also a mini 88 temples on the grounds, which was convenient. The main hall was modern. It was also nice that there was a place where the Monarch Butterfly came and we were able to actually observe the Monarch Butterfly. #0yentripFebruary2025
