Jeju Olle Trail Course 9: Baksugijeong

Baksugijeong at Daepyeong Port is a recommended spot on Jeju's Olle Trail. Located in Gamsan-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City, it is close to other popular attractions such as Sanbangsan Mountain, Sagye Beach, Songaksan Trail, Gapado Island, and Marado Island, making it a great addition to your travel itinerary. Jeju Olle Trail Course 9 starts at Daepyeong Port and spans 11.8 km, passing through Molgil, Daeheungsa Temple, Jungmun Olle Pension, Gunsan Forest Path, Gunsan Oreum, Andeok Valley, Changgocheon Bridge, Olleongi So, Jinmoru Hill, Gaekkeuri Min Bridge, Nanuri Park, and Hwasun Golden Sand Beach. The course takes approximately 4 hours to complete, so if you have the time, consider challenging yourself to finish it. Baksugijeong, located in front of Daepyeong Port, derives its name from the combination of 'Baksu,' meaning sample, and 'Gijeong,' meaning cliff. It is a wide area formed by solidified lava from ancient volcanic eruptions. On the day I visited Seogwipo's Daepyeong Port to capture the sunset, I had some time before dusk and decided to walk along the Olle Trail with views of Baksugijeong. The trail offered a serene atmosphere with large rocks and a unique charm. Molgil on Olle Trail Course 9 is a rocky path with gentle slopes, showcasing the distinctive autumn scenery. It feels like exploring a mystical world in a video game and is considered a hidden gem in Jeju, offering a rare and unique experience.
