Gunsan Oreum

Jeju's Gunsan Oreum is located in Changcheon-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City. To reach it, follow the road from Andeok Valley to Daepyeong Port and head east. For navigation, simply input 'Gunsan Oreum Parking Lot,' and you'll arrive at the location shown in the photo above. Note that the path from the entrance to the summit is narrow, allowing only one car to pass at a time, and there are no public restrooms available. The hike from the Gunsan Oreum parking lot to the summit takes about 5–7 minutes, and the incline is gentle, making it an easy climb. Along the way, you'll encounter a Japanese cave bunker built during the Pacific War, with a total of nine such bunkers scattered across the oreum. On the trail leading to the highest viewpoint of Gunsan Oreum, you'll find a chair sculpture where visitors can stamp their Jeju Olle Trail Route 9 passport. This spot also serves as a photo zone, offering a stunning backdrop of the Seogwipo sea. On clear days, you can enjoy views of Sanbangsan Mountain, as well as Gapado and Marado islands beyond the sea. Marado, in particular, is a popular autumn destination known for its beautiful silver grass scenery, making it a must-visit for Jeju travelers.
