[Onyang, Korea] Korea's first private folk museum

#0yentripnovember Onyang Folk Museum was founded in 1978 by Kim Won-dae, a publisher, and is the first private folk museum in Korea. It's surprising to know that the 20,000-plus exhibits are folk materials that Kim Won-dae collected and used in his research. ・ The main exhibition hall is an exhibition that shows the lives of Korean people. Starting with a scene of praying before a child is born, to the birth and marriage of children, and the worship of the dead, there are tools, costumes, and offerings that were actually used, and the exhibition conveys important events in life in a realistic way. ・ As a foodie, I was interested in the various Korean dishes shown with food samples. Rice, noodles, soup, kimchi, dishes that go well with alcohol, and dishes for special occasions. Even though they are called rice cakes, there are many flavors and shapes. Just looking at the exhibits is fun and makes you hungry. ・ Is everything beautiful if we put it away in a box of memories? The slightly tarnished norigae, the embroidery with frayed threads, and the uniquely shaped shoes that show signs of wear. It is all the more beautiful to see that they clearly had an owner.
