A hideaway from tourist side of Sanur

#cityplaybook Back to the mainland of Bali from Nusa Penida, I’m craving for an affordable yet nutritious meal—on the islands the prices tend to run higher because many ingredients are sourced from the mainland—and a google search landed me at this place. It’s a charming café nestled on the tranquil Jalan Duyung. The lush greenery of coconut and bougainvillea trees at the entrance immediately set a serene tone. I can tell it’s a neighbourhood cafe because everything was priced very affordably: nasi campus with egg, 2 types of chicken, beef and tempeh/tofu costed 30k; coffee from 22k etc. What I particularly enoyed was their Balinese version of aglio olio, which was improvised by throwing in some sambal and local elements. A flavor that’s unique to Bali.
