Rainy Season Destination: Nakee Cave, Nakhon Phanom 2025

"Do you believe in the Naga?" A simple question from an older brother who wanted me to visit an extraordinary Unseen destination, showcasing the breathtaking beauty crafted by nature—"Nakee Cave" in Phu Langka National Park, Ban Phaeng District, Nakhon Phanom Province. "If you visit Nakhon Phanom and don’t go to Nakee Cave, it’s like you haven’t truly been to Nakhon Phanom!" (He backed up his claim with stunning photos from his recent trip.) Being easily persuaded, I quickly agreed, saying, "Let’s go, brother!" Nakee Cave is located within Phu Langka National Park, Ban Phaeng District, Nakhon Phanom Province (on the opposite side of Naka Cave in Bueng Kan Province). It’s a fascinating nature trail for me, as the shapes and formations of the rocks created by nature resemble the mythical Naga figures often seen in temples. Of course, this depends on individual beliefs and imagination. But for someone like me, who loves to imagine, it’s incredibly exciting. Everywhere I look, the rocks seem to come alive! Helpful Information: - Nakee Cave is in Nakhon Phanom Province, while Naka Cave is in Bueng Kan Province. - The highlight is the "Nakee Head," a majestic natural formation that’s truly remarkable. - It’s best to visit during the rainy season to capture stunning waterfall photos. - The trail is about 2 kilometers long, as informed by the staff. It’s an easy walk, like strolling in your backyard, with only a steep section of about 200–300 meters at the end. - The hike takes about 2–3 hours, depending on how much time you spend taking photos. If you go in the morning, it’s recommended to bring food and water in case you get hungry. - You can start the hike between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Costs: - Entrance fee to Phu Langka National Park: 20 THB per person. - Parking fee: 20 THB per vehicle. - Guide fee: Not fixed; it’s up to your discretion. * Walk-ins are welcome.
