Wat Pho Bang Khla

Wat Pho Bang Khla, located in Chachoengsao Province, is a historic temple situated along the Bang Pakong River. It dates back to the late Ayutthaya period and is believed to have served as a military camp for King Taksin the Great during his campaign against the Burmese at Pak Nam Jolo. The temple features an ancient and beautiful vihara with a four-gabled design that is several centuries old. However, due to the passage of time, only the plaster walls and the reclining Buddha statue remain as original elements. Another highlight of Wat Pho Bang Khla is the presence of large fruit bats, known as "flying foxes." During the daytime, visitors can observe these bats resting on tree branches within the temple grounds, offering a unique opportunity to capture their natural behavior.
