The building in which the exhibits are displayed was once built as a palace, and is very splendid and majestic. Inside the chapel, the Siang Buddha, the guardian Buddha of the country, is enshrined, and the very large altar is elaborately, beautifully, and luxuriously designed, making it very majestic. The life of Buddha is painted on the entire inner wall of this chapel, and a free Japanese tour guide, available for a limited time of two hours from 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, will give a very detailed explanation. Unfortunately, I couldn't listen to the guide's explanation because the day didn't work out. On the way back, I went to Puff & Pie, a cafe next to the museum ticket office, where you can get sweets like parfaits and pies, coffee, and packaged snacks. I was a little hungry, so I had a snack instead of a sweet. There were several types of packaged snacks, and maybe it was because the cafe was next to the museum, or because the snacks were packaged? They were very cheap, but they were all delicious. Backpacks and large luggage are not allowed into the Bangkok National Museum, but they will be stored at the ticket office for free. Liquids such as water are also not allowed, and must be stored in luggage or thrown away, so be careful of these two points.
