Wat Nak Prok, Phasi Charoen

Wat Nak Prok is located on Thet Thai Road, Pak Khlong Phasi Charoen Subdistrict, Phasi Charoen District, Bangkok, not far from BTS Wutthakat Station. .. Wat Nak Prok, originally called Wat Pok, is an ancient temple that is believed to have been built since the late Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Borommakot. .. Inside the temple, there are two Sukhothai bronze Buddha images in the Mara-Vijaya posture, which are beautifully decorated and over 700 years old (counting from the present). They are enshrined as the principal Buddha images in the ordination hall, known as “Luang Pho Chao Sua”. The other image is enshrined as the principal Buddha image in the chapel, which is a Thai-style architectural building that has been renovated from the ordination hall. Inside the chapel, Thai murals were also painted. For this principal Buddha image, Phraya Choduk Ratchasetthi built a Naga Prok serpent to cover it.
