While in Bangkok, don’t missed out on visiting one of the famous temple which has become the landmark of Thailand, Wat Arun the Temple of Sunset.
If you go there to watch the sunset, make sure to arrive before 5:30pm as it closes at that time. Don’t forget to rent the traditional thai wear too. There’re cheap rental shops at the front gate of Wat Arun where you can choose from.
You can take a ferry, a boat, MRT or grabcar to go to Wat Arun. I’d recommend to buy the chao phraya hop on hop off ferry ticket. It’s only THB150 for the whole day ride which you can get off and get on the ferry as many time as you want at every pier it stops. It is a saver.

Must go place for first time visitor to Bangkok.  The boat ride was fun, always a queue but it is quite quick.  Best time to go is near sunset time on a clear day.   There are many shops nearby to rent and dress up in the traditional Thai dress (Chut Thai) at Bht 300-500.

Bangkok never fails to amaze with its perfect blend of tradition and modernity! 

Started the day soaking in the Thai tradition at Wat Arun, then dived into a world of shopping and entertainment at Siam Discovery, MBK Center, and Siam Center, each offering a unique mix of fashion, tech, and local finds. 

Ended the adventure at CentralWorld, where the city’s energy peaks with endless dining, shopping, and vibrant nightlife—truly a traveler’s paradise! 

My favourite was the visit to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, where I got lost in a world of creativity, from contemporary art exhibitions to unique handmade crafts. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with local artists exhibition made it a truly immersive experience.

This time i want to share about my favorite places in Bangkok, Thailand that you should visit if you are currently in Bangkok. These places are so insta-worthy, beautiful and amazing. 

Here’s my itinerary for you guys: 

🇹🇭Day1🇹🇭 
1. Wat Ratchabophit 
This temple is one of the most unique and beautiful temple, have a mixture of Thai and western styles. The exterior of the Chapel is in the Thai style but the interior is decorated in the European style. This temple is a must visit temple if you are in Bangkok. 
Opening Hours: 06.00am-06.00pm
Entrance Fee: FREE


2. Wat Arun Ratchawararam
Wat Arun Ratchawararam, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is a must-visit tourist spot in Bangkok, Thailand. This iconic temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and intricate details.
Opening Hours: 08.00am-06.00pm
Entrance Fee: 200 THB

3. Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram
Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram, known by many as the Marble Temple because its pillars, courtyard, and lion statue guardians are all made entirely of Italian Carrara marble, is one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples.
Opening Hours: 08.00am-05.00pm
Entrance Fee: 100 THB 

PS: you can go to these 3 places in one day coz the location is not too far, for having lunch i recommend you to try in Wat Arun Temple Area, in this area there are so many restaurants and stalls.

🇹🇭Day 2🇹🇭
4. The Erawan Museum 
The Erawan Museum is well known for its giant three-headed elephant art sculpture as exterior. This is the first and biggest hand-carved sculpture in the world.
Opening Hours: 09.00am-06.00pm
Entrance Fee: 400 THB

5. Ancient City has been regarded as one of the largest open-air museums in the world. Visitors can see many significant places in Thailand, for example, castles, palaces, temples, and sculptures.
Opening Hours: 09.00am-07.00pm
Entrance Fee: 700 THB 

PS: for The Erawan Museum and Ancient City, these places are located in Samut Prakan Area (outside bangkok), but the location is not too far.. it took only 30 mins from bangkok by Car or you can also reach this place by train. For lunch i recommend you to try foods in The Erawan Museum Food Court or try the lunch/dinner buffet at ancient city.

Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan or Wat Arun or locally known as Wat Chaeng is a Buddhist temple in the Bangkok Yai district of Bangkok, Thailand.

Located in the west bank of the Chao Phraya river. It’s easily to find, because this temple is one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok. 

Not only because of its riverside location but also because the design is very different from the other temples you can visit in the Thai capital. Wat Arun is partly made up of colourfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water. 

Inside the ordination hall of Wat Arun, where the walls are decorated with many intricate murals, you can view the golden Niramitr Buddha image. Wat Arun is an architectural representation of Mount Meru, the center of the world in Buddhist cosmology.

To reach this beautiful temple, From Saphan Taksin boat pier you can take a riverboat that stops at Pier 8. From here, a small shuttle boat takes you from one side of the river to the other.

The Temple Of Dawn, Bangkok🇹🇭✨

Wat Arun is one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. It’s known as the temple of dawn and is located along the beautiful Chao Phraya River. 
The temple is adorned with stunning floral mosaics which are made from broken multi hued Chinese porcelain. Wat Arun is open daily from 8am-6pm and tickets cost 50 Baht. 

Dress code:
As Wat Arun is a Buddhist temple, visitors must wear culturally appropriate clothing to visit. This means trousers or long skirts and tops that cover your shoulders. 
if you are not dressed appropriate, you can rent a sarong from the shop at the entrance for 20B (and a 100B refundable deposit). Kindly note that you will also need to remove your shoes before entering certain parts of the temple.

One of Bangkok’s most famous and most photographed temples, Wat Arun is located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. Best time to visit this Pinterest-worthy place is in the early morning to avoid the crowd and the heat.

Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is a stunning temple located in Bangkok. Its unique architecture, featuring colorful tiles and intricate patterns, make it one of themost beautiful temples in the city. The temple is situated on the bank of the Chao Phraya River,providing a scenic backdrop and great photo opportunities.

We climbed the steep steps of the temple for a breathtaking view of the surrounding area,and caught a glimpse of the nearby Grand Palace and Wat Pho. At night, Wat Arun is illuminated, creating amagical atmosphere and making it a popular spot for a nighttime stroll.

Overall, we feel that Wat Arun is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Bangkok. Its intricate design, rich
history, and stunning views make it a true gem of Thai culture and architecture.

To get to Wat Arun, there are a few transportation options available:
1. Chao Phraya River Boat: We selected this option as it was one of the most scenic ways to reach Wat Arun by taking aboat along the Chao Phraya River. Visitors can take the river boat to pier number 8 (Tha
Tien Pier) and then take a short ferry ride across the river to reach the temple.
2. Taxi or Tuk-tuk: It is most convenient to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to the temple. 
3. BTS Skytrain and Bus: Visitors can take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin station, thentake a bus.

#bangkok Wat Arun is an iconic temple in Thailand with an imposing Khmer prang decorated with colourful bits of porcelain originally from China. The temple was named after Aruna, a Hindu God known for its radiations of the rising sun. The temple is an imposing sight on Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya river in Yai district. I recommend arriving before 9 am as it gets super busy afterwards.

🕰️ Opens 8.30 am - 6 pm
👚Shoulders & knees should be covered. Please dress respectfully, else you’ll have to rent a Sarong at the entrance at an additional cost.
⛴️ Cross river ferry from Tha Tien Pier to Wat Arun Pier is 5 baht. Sanam Chai MRT 🚇 is closest to Tha Tien Pier. If you’re staying on the west bank of the Chao Phraya river, you can go by taxi 🚕 or tuk tuk🛺
