Worship at Phra Phiren Temple

#GetDiscountWithoutLuck - Wat Phra Phiren is an ancient temple. It is assumed that it was built in the Ayutthaya period. There is no information about the original name of the temple. Around 2379 B.E., during the reign of King Nangklao, His Majesty graciously ordered the construction and renovation of temples throughout the capital. Phra Phiren Thep (Kham Na Ratchasima), the Chief of the Right Police Department, restored this temple and built 12 new kuti buildings to offer as a royal merit. It was given the name Wat Kham Khemkaram after the restorer. However, it is commonly called Wat Phra Phiren according to the title. - The characteristics of the chapel are the work of royal craftsmen. It is outstanding for combining Eastern and Western architecture. The chapel is raised high, without pillars and supports, but has been modified into a Gothic arch with a palapa. The gable is in the shape of a Naga head with its mouth open showing its fangs. The door and window arches are made of stucco in a floral pattern. The wooden door panels are carved in the style of Chinese craftsmen. The front and back arches of the building enshrine one standing Buddha image on each side. Inside the building enshrines one Buddha image in the meditation posture, which is the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall, surrounded by six seated Buddha images and six standing Buddha images.
