Pay homage to Phra Phuttha Chaiyaphruekthika Mahabophit.

🏡Wat Chaiyaphrueksamala Ratchaworawihan, a second-class royal monastery, was built in 1757. It later became abandoned, and when Rattanakosin was established, the bricks from the temple were used to build the city walls. 🙏🏽King Rama II ordered the restoration of the temple to replace the original one that was dismantled. ✨️King Rama III included the temple in the list of royal Kathin temples. 🏘King Rama IV donated royal funds to complete the restoration and named it Wat Chaiyaphrueksamala. The important and interesting features within the temple are as follows: 🏠The old ordination hall, built during the reign of King Rama II and restored during the reign of King Rama IV. The main gable features Garuda holding a Naga, while the front and rear gables feature the Great Crown. Inside, the principal Buddha image is Luang Pho To (Phra Phuttha Chaiyaphruekthika Mahabophit), an Ayutthaya-era Buddha statue. 🏣The new ordination hall features a Garuda on the gable and a stucco Great Crown on the reduced gable. Inside, the principal Buddha image is Phra Phuttha Chaimongkol Phra Phuttha Chinnarat replica. 🏛The vihara has remnants of original mural paintings with patterns in red and green on a yellow background. 🛕The chedi, built during the reign of King Rama IV, is a large round bell-shaped structure with four smaller chedis.
