In the "unfamous" Imperial City Root Temple, savoring tea, viewing exhibitions, and practicing yoga.

Beijing, a millennium-old capital, is submerged in numerous ancient relics that remain unknown to many. If the palaces and fortresses manifest the imperial charm, then the "non-famous series" I am about to explore represents the everyday life and human touch of old Beijing... Today, join me in the exploration of a 600-year-old temple hidden in the alleyways near the Imperial City, where one can enjoy tea, view exhibitions, and practice yoga... This place is known as Zhi Zhu Temple, with a history of 600 years. It was once a royal temple and a place for printing scriptures. Many members of the royal family, from the empress and crown prince to eunuchs and palace maids, gathered here. The temple was once bustling with incense and worshippers, attracting thousands at its peak. In the long river of history, this place was almost obliterated. The remaining part of the building is still standing, restored to its current state by a foreigner over five years. Let's not mention the intermittent closures in the past few years. Just for the respect and love for ancient relics, I give a thumbs up to that foreign gentleman. The current temple can also be considered a business venue. There is a tea room called Dong Jing Yuan with an average cost of 100 yuan per person, and a French restaurant TRB Hutong with an average cost of 1,000 yuan per person. Strolling around the courtyard, modern sculptures blend with ancient buildings, creating a unique charm. You can also choose a quiet place to sit down, order a cup of tea, and enjoy the warm spring under the imperial city... There are yoga classes and exhibitions in the main hall that require reservations. If interested, give it a try. ㊙️︱Practical Information ﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉ ⛩️︱Zhi Zhu Temple 💰︱Free admission ⏰︱Open all day, recommended to visit after 5 pm for fewer crowds 👣︱Parking is difficult, it's advised to walk or cycle ❗︱Photography with cameras is not allowed, but mobile phone shooting is permitted.
