It is located outside Hepingmen, with a total length of about 800 meters. It extends from Yanshou Street in the east to Nanbei Liuxiang in the west and is one of the well-known cultural areas in Beijing. Liulichang East Street has a long history, originating from the Qing Dynasty. At that time, scholars from various regions who came to Beijing to take the imperial examinations mostly stayed in this area, creating a strong cultural atmosphere. It was not only an important place for cultural exchanges but also attracted many cultural figures and scholars. With the development of time, Liulichang East Street gradually became a trading place for cultural goods such as the Four Treasures of the Study, rare ancient books, rubbings of inscriptions, and antique calligraphy and paintings. The cultural atmosphere became increasingly rich, earning it the reputation of being a refined place for leisure in the capital. In the late Qing Dynasty, a normal school was built on the original site of Liulichang, which is the predecessor of the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University. Additionally, Haiwang Village Park was built on the south side of the original site, further enriching the cultural connotation of the area.
