Location Yinbei Wild Luxury Hotel is located in Xidama Village, Beijing. It is built on the mountainside, with a staggered layout, a broad view, and is surrounded by green mountains and trees. According to legend, Bodhidharma traveled around the world and passed by this place to spread Buddhism, so the mountain here is called Dharma Mountain, and the village where the project is located is also renamed West Dharma Village. The total construction area is 1,700 square meters. The original building was a residential house, which was replanned and designed based on the original homestead. A small river that flows slowly down from the mountain runs through the middle of the base. Many huge stones are lying in the river, and they have become very round after years of erosion. There are many trees growing in the river. The entire site is surrounded by nature, very quiet and full of Zen, giving people a feeling of paradise. The project is positioned as a wild luxury hotel, a place for urban people to relax and de-stress during holidays, allowing their body and mind to return to nature. The new building is a two-story building built along the water, allowing each guest room to enjoy the natural scenery of mountains and rivers, pursuing dialogue and communication between people and the natural environment. The overall planning and design echoes the surrounding village form, closely connecting the building with the site context. The buildings, villages and the surrounding natural environment form an organic whole. Construction and Materials The overall architectural form is undulating and follows the terrain. The construction logic of the building combines the different characteristics of northern and southern dwellings. Not far from the project is the famous Cuandixia residential settlement, a typical northern stone-built dwelling. Therefore, the solid structure of the bottom of the building adopts brick and stone masonry structure, and the second floor is built with wood structure, which is inspired by the architectural structure of the Naxi dwellings in Yunnan. In the modern context, dwellings can also be flexibly combined and grafted across the boundaries of time and space to form a new complex dwelling form. The combination of different construction methods also brings different benefits to the use of the building. The solid stone masonry structure on the ground floor not only blocks moisture and stabilizes the foundation, but also organically integrates the building with the site environment, giving the building a sense of growth. It fully embodies the concept of organic architecture. The stone materials of the building were selected from local stones around the site, and the construction was also done by local stonemasons. The building fully reflects the regional characteristics and the characteristics of the site, forming a continuity with the site. The traditional sloping roof echoes the traditional form of residential buildings, making the entire hotel appear low-key and steady. The two-story building adopts a wooden structure, which is light and flexible while also creating a natural and livable interior space. The combination of wood and stone makes the overall level of the building more rich and charming. Function and business format The hotel lobby and guest rooms are across the river from each other and are connected by a pedestrian bridge. Guests have to cross the river to get from the lobby and restaurant to the guest rooms, allowing them to fully experience the beautiful natural environment after entering the hotel. There are 24 guest rooms in total, divided into waterfront rooms and terrace rooms, which maximize the advantages of the surrounding natural landscape. The design of the terrace provides residents with a platform for chatting, drinking tea, and enjoying the scenery, so that they can feel the natural atmosphere together.
