Here's a recommended city walk route in the downtown area, from Dongdan to the Dongsi Hutongs:

1️⃣ Beijing's Dongtangzi Hutong, located in Dongcheng District, is a historic alley. It runs east from Chaoyangmen Nanxiao Street to Dongsi South Street, spanning approximately 500 meters. Dongtangzi Hutong got its name during the Qing Dynasty from the Dongtangzi Temple located within the hutong. The former residence of Dr. Wu Lien-teh is also situated in this hutong. 2️⃣ Dongtangzi Hutong boasts a rich history, with many famous historical buildings and cultural sites nearby. For example, near the hutong are Lishi Hutong and Shijia Hutong, both dating back to the Qing Dynasty, as well as some well-preserved courtyard houses. These buildings and hutongs together form the unique landscape of Beijing's old town. 3️⃣ Walk straight to the northwest corner of Dongsi intersection to the Longfu Cultural Center, a popular spot for young people.
