Beijing: Check out the small courtyard where I stayed next to the Lama Temple.

I highly recommend friends visiting Beijing to experience a small courtyard within a hutong. The location within the 2nd Ring Road is excellent, making it close to everywhere. Experience Beijing hutong life in a quiet setting. No need for a long stay, one or two nights is just right. 🏠 Wanju Courtyard Hotel (There are two courtyards, but the wooden structure one is better) 📍Wanju Courtyard Hotel (Beijing Lama Temple Branch), Dongcheng District, Beijing This isn't a traditional siheyuan (courtyard house), but a small courtyard with a wooden structure. 🍂 A tall walnut tree and a large platform offer sunset views. 🛏️ The loft-style room on one side blends Chinese and Japanese design elements. The upper level of the loft has a large bed and a small bed, accommodating up to 3 people. The room is bathed in sunlight during the day. The terrace is lit at night, promising a comfortable summer experience. ❤️ Perfect for a hutong city walk. Stroll to the Lama Temple, Wudaoying Hutong, and the Drum Tower. Sanlitun and Wangfujing are also nearby, reachable within a 20-minute 🚗 drive. Guijie, a food street, is right outside, offering tons of dining options. Pangmei Noodle House is just 3 minutes away. Take a leisurely walk to Shanhai Sihe by Jetlag Books for some reading. Enjoy a nightcap at Vertigo. ⚠️ Tips for choosing a hutong homestay: ▪️ Consider the Dongsi area for smooth transportation and plenty of fun and delicious food. ▪️ Make sure it has a private bathroom, air conditioning, and heating!!
