This hotel in Beijing truly amazed me.

Check out the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel~ A new Renaissance Hotel, part of the Marriott group, just opened near my home. I've passed by countless times, so I decided to check it out~ 🏨 The hotel's decor is incredibly avant-garde, giving off a W Hotel vibe. "Horse" elements are everywhere, woven throughout the design. The public spaces display various horse tack and decorative paintings, with meticulous attention to detail: horseshoe-shaped elevator buttons, horseshoe light projections on the floor, the crisp, simulated sound effects in the elevator, and even the room numbers are shaped like horse stools. 🚪 Room: My executive room was on the 17th floor. There's a white saddle outside the door, and I have no idea what it's for. From the window, you can see the Olympic Tower (the "Big Nail") and the China Zun. The room's ceiling slopes dramatically to one side (I assume this is intentional, I only noticed it when I lay down). Besides the standard double bed, the room also has a mid-sized sofa, coffee table, and desk. It's spacious. The decor is quite youthful (again, "like a W Hotel"): a saddle-shaped rocking chair, a mirror with an offset cut in the middle, a decorative painting with pink lights that create a sense of movement, a table resembling a Chinese chessboard, and a DK encyclopedia about horses... The bathroom is separated from the room by a sliding door and has a 🛀. The sink's surface has a matte finish, which tends to show marks easily, driving my OCD crazy. The toiletries are by ARGUS, with a fresh scent, and the large bottles emphasize eco-friendliness. Oh, and there's no smart toilet. 🥂 Lounge: The Executive Lounge is on the 18th floor, the hotel's top floor, and mainly faces south. From the south, you can see the China Zun and the Olympic Tower (the "Big Nail"). To the east, you can see the lush trees of Dongxiaokou Park, and to the west, you overlook the first phase of Dongsheng Science and Technology Park. I've lived near here for three years, and this is the first time I've seen Dongsheng from this perspective. Happy hour offers drinks, hot and cold dishes, and desserts. There's a wide variety, and they replenish the food quickly. There are also various cheeses (yay!!!) 🍳 Breakfast: Overall, it was pretty standard, with both Chinese and Western options. One complaint: breakfast had hash browns, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, and bacon, but no baked beans. Why not?! It felt incomplete. 🏃‍♂️ Gym & Pool: Although both are located on the basement level, there's natural light, so it doesn't feel too oppressive. The pool wasn't open yet. The gym is equipped with Technogym equipment, mainly cardio, with fewer strength-training machines. The cardio area has treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, and a stair climber (which is uncommon in gyms). The strength-training area has a set of dumbbells, kettlebells, a small cable crossover machine, and a lat pulldown machine. The lockers in the changing rooms are equipped with slippers, hangers, and towels. The shower area is spacious, with separate wet and dry areas, and there's also a steam room and a sauna. I ran into the hotel's general manager in the gym this morning, haha. 🅿️ Parking: Parking is currently free. The entrance and exit are incredibly narrow. There are many supporting pillars in the underground parking area, and the parking spaces are quite small.
