The "Witness the Shang Dynasty" exhibition is currently being held at the Beijing Grand Canal Museum, a cultural feast not to be missed! The exhibition will run until October 12th. The exhibition is divided into four sections: "Records and Classics," "The Pinnacle of Bronze," "Central Expansion," and "Legacy for Posterity," showcasing the political, economic, cultural, and social life of the Shang Dynasty from different perspectives. 📜 The "Records and Classics" section displays numerous oracle bones inscribed with ancient scripts, recording important events such as royal genealogies, sacrifices, and wars of the Shang kings. 🏛️ The "Pinnacle of Bronze" area features an array of exquisitely crafted and majestic bronze artifacts. The Fu Hao Owl Zun is particularly striking—a burial object from the tomb of Fu Hao. Its dynamic form and intricate decorations, combining high relief, low relief, and incised line techniques in a "three-layer floral" style, highlight the advanced bronze-casting skills of the Shang Dynasty. This exhibition marks the first reunion in 50 years of a pair of Fu Hao Owl Zuns, one from the National Museum of China and the other from the Henan Museum, as well as a pair of "Yachou" bronze axes, one from the National Museum and the other from the Shandong Museum! 🌍 The "Central Expansion" section illustrates the territorial reach, urban planning, and interactions with neighboring regions during the Shang Dynasty. 🎨 The "Legacy for Posterity" exhibition highlights the profound influence of Shang culture on later generations.
