800-year-old mountain salt mine, “the only one in the world”

Take a tour of the 800-year-old ancient salt pond, “Mountain Rock Salt”, the only one in the world. 😘 Located in a beautiful location surrounded by green mountains with a natural stream flowing through it. “Bo Kluea District”, Nan Province … It got this name because it is famous for producing mountain salt. This is because the water in this pond is naturally occurring salt water and still keeps bubbling up all the time. It has never dried up. It is truly amazing. Geological data assumes that this area was once a sea in the Permian era in the Paleozoic Era (between 250-299 million years ago). Therefore, there should be a layer of underground salt rocks or a dome in this area amidst the natural valley. Currently, salt is still boiled in the ancient method by scooping the salt water from the pond through bamboo poles to a reservoir. Cut and boil in a pan for 4-5 hours to evaporate the water. Then, you will get salt crystals. Then use a spatula to scoop and put it in a basket, hanging it above the pan. Let the salt water flow down into the pan until all the water in the pan is dry.
