🇮🇳 India-Bodhgaya Tara Temple

#2024TravelReview Tara Temple is located in Bodhgaya, the most important Buddhist holy place in India (only a 10-minute drive from Mahabodhi Temple, where the Buddha attained enlightenment). The first floor of the main building of the Tara Temple enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha, the second floor inner hall has an exquisite 3D mandala, and on both sides of the corridor outside the hall are 21 Taras carved out of white jade, each holding different ritual implements and hand seals. The first and second floors both have beautiful colorful ceiling paintings; the inner hall on the third floor has another 3D mandala, and the large sculpture of "Green Tara", the protagonist of this temple, is enshrined on the top of the third floor. It is extremely solemn! There is a row of buildings on each side of the main building, which contain offices, kitchens, accommodation, etc. We also provide temple lodging (a Buddhist term meaning staying overnight in a temple). Each room has two single beds and a small bathroom. The temple holds "Scripture Debates" from time to time, and visitors have the opportunity to witness the Sutra Debates that have been passed down for more than 2,500 years since the time of the Buddha! What’s interesting is that at night the temple is lit up with colorful LED lights (when in Rome, do as the Romans do; Indian culture is so lively and colorful), which changes the solemn atmosphere during the day and gives it a more down-to-earth feel! #Bodhgaya
